Happy New Year to all my reader’s, I hope you all have a magical 2016! I thought I would do my traditional post of reflecting on the past year. 2015 was a huge year for me filled with high’s and low’s, My greatest achievement was obviously graduating university. I also went on a holiday of a lifetime and spent three weeks in Walt Disney World, Florida. Life after University has been sort of strange, I’m still not 100% what I want to do but at the moment I am blogging full-time which I am loving. Who knows what 2016 will bring!
January was a pretty relaxed month, I concentrated on University work as I was in my final months. I did manage a couple of days of fun exploring Birmingham’s attractions and I was also invited along to the Radisson in Birmingham, you can read my full review here. I also took part in the Qantas and Jean Paul Gaultier Style Challenge here.
February saw the 5th Birthday of my blog and we celebrated in style with some incredible giveaways for you guys! Mum and I went on our annual February trip to London where we visited the Zoo and saw Wicked the Musical. I also attended London Fashion Week for my fourth season with Hayley, we saw some incredible collections from amazing designers such as Orla Kiely, Bora Aksu and Fyodor Golan.
I spent the most of March stressing over my final project at University which I finally got all handed in after many all-nighters in the library. I was fortunate to be invited to Ladies Day at Cheltenham Races, I went along with my friend Becca and we had a fantastic day and even won some money!
In April, we took a family trip up to Edinburgh to celebrate my Mum’s Birthday, It was such a lovely couple of days, It’s such a beautiful place and I loved exploring the city. Hopefully, I can visit again this year. You can read all about my trip here.
May was the month I finished University and had my last lectures, it felt so amazing to have everything handed in and I still can’t believe I survived three years at Uni! In May, I put up my first YouTube video here, I haven’t uploaded many since but I’m hoping to really get into it in 2016.
June was such a fun month filled with many day trip’s and fun. I had my Graduation Ball which was an amazing evening and such a lovely way to finish University with all my friends. I also visited the Harry Potter Studios again and also visited Liverpool for the first time (and Central Perk!) – I need to go back soon as I loved it there. I was invited to the JD Williams press event and met Lorraine Kelly, I also took my Mum along and she was loving life with Lorraine! To finish off an amazing month, I was invited to Manchester to a Blogger’s Photoshoot with Boohoo.com which was a great day and you can see the final result here.
In July, I went on a girl’s break to Spain and I also visited Barcelona which I still need to blog about! It was a brief visit to Barcelona but I would love to go back for a longer trip. I also thought I’d mention a collaboration I did with the Designer Exchange, I did two shoots here & here but these are some of my favourite photo’s of the year.
In August, I turned 21 and in true Rachel style, I only had a couple of parties including a princess pub crawl. I had one of the best birthday’s and such a good time. I also worked with Think Money on a York City Guide and The White Stuff on dressing for A Day At The Seaside.
September was the craziest month, after recovering from my Birthday antics I headed down to Birmingham for my Graduation. I was really dreading my Graduation but turned out to have the best time and It was so lovely to see all my friends and I felt really proud of my accomplishments. I then jetted off for three weeks to Walt Disney World in Florida, it was literally the best time and I’d love to go back. You can find many posts about my trip here and I also vlogged whilst out there here.
After recovering from Florida, I had a pretty chilled October. I did, however, go see One Direction with Becca in Sheffield. It was such a fun couple of days and I stayed in the Hampton by Hilton which you can see my review here. I also went to my first blogger’s event up in Yorkshire at Denham in Leeds which you can read about here.
In November, I spent a couple of days in London to see all the beautiful Christmas decorations and Winter Wonderland. My and Mum and I stayed in the Cavendish Hotel which was incredible, there will be a review coming soon. I also worked with AttractionTix and Visit York on visiting York and some of the cities attractions, It was such fun and great to work with local businesses. You can read all about it here & here.
December means one thing and that is the Clothes Show Live in Birmingham, I have gone every year for the past nine years so I had to go! I also got to visit Birmingham’s Christmas Market and see the brand new Grand Central Station which is incredible. Just before Christmas, I was invited to Leeds’ Victoria Quarter for an exciting afternoon which I will be posting about soon!
2015 was pretty damn good, here’s to a magical and happy 2016!
Happy New Year!
