My Confidence Boosting Self-Care Routine
The last couple of months have been strange, to say the least. To be honest, I still can’t really wrap my head around it all. I’ve tried to use the last couple of months to reflect and take time for myself. Self-Care is so important and I’ve teamed up with Boots to share some of my favourite things that I do to make myself feel better and give myself a little confidence boost.

Tanning
Whilst I’m not a complete tanning addict, every so often I will use some of my favourite tanning products to give myself a golden glow. At the moment, I’ve been using the Bondi Sands Fake Tan which I’ve been super impressed with. I’ve been feeling like a bronzed goddess and it’s given me such a confidence boost. It’s crazy what a little glow can do to boost your confidence and make you feel good about yourself. As I said I’ve been using Bondi Sands Dark Foaming tan all over my body which has given me a bronzed glow. The tan was super easy to apply and I washed off after a couple of hours and was left with a streak-free glow.
I usually use a separate fake tan for the face and find that a facial spray works best for me. As long as you spray across the face evenly, you’ll be fine and left with a bronzed complexion. It’s crazy what a little tan can do for your confidence. I always find that with a little tan on my face, I tend to not wear make-up as much. A bronzed glow usually also brings out my blue eyes. Bondi Sands and Skinny Tan are two brands I’ve been using recently which so far I’ve had no issues with and really enjoyed the products I’ve tried.
Manicure & Pedicure
Although I rarely get my nails done professionally, I just love having them painted. Having a good pamper session and giving myself a good manicure and pedicure is high up on my self-care list. As I’ve been doing a lot of sewing recently, my fingernails haven’t been painted in ages but I’m going to get them done for my Birthday at the end of August as a little treat. However, I must ALWAYS have my toes painted as a rule. There’s nothing better than putting on some sandals in Summer with a fresh pedicure. At the moment, I’m loving nude and grey shades and I’m trying my best to avoid the typical barbie pink colours which I always go for!

Hair Treatments
My hair is actually pretty low maintenance, I’ve never really used anything extraordinary on it. Believe it or not, I’ve not had my hair cut in over two years. However, I think it might be time for Rapunzel to book in for the chop. My hair has always been in really great condition but in the last couple of months, I’ve been trying different treatments and the difference has been incredible. My hair has been looking salon fresh, so smooth and silky and it’s really boosted my confidence. Although I will be getting it cut soon (not too much off though!), I will still keep going with the treatments as I’ve been so impressed by the results.
Facemasks
Finally, who doesn’t love a good facemask?! It’s one of those things where you can do a quick facemask and you immediately feel pampered and relaxed. There are so many different facemasks on the market now from peel-off masks to sheet masks – I just love doing them all. I’ve even got Stefan doing Facemasks Friday with me! Although it leaves you feeling pampered, your skin is left feeling radiant and hydrated.
These are just a few things in my self-care routine which really boost my mood and even my confidence. I love taking that little bit of time for myself to do my nails or apply fake tan. It leaves me feeling so much better and confident. What is part of your self-care routine?
XOXO

Your hair is so long! It looks beautiful and in such a good condition. Love all of these self-care practices. I haven’t faked tan in ages but I feel like with summer coming to end in a month or so I need to do it soon xx

I think it is a great idea to use these strange times to focus on some self-care. I sure could do with some fake tan, my legs just stay pasty white no matter what. Mich x
What a lovely self care routine! It’s amazing how much it can help the confidence. I’d never really thought about it before but it does always give me a boost when I’ve taken care of myself. Painting my nails and doing my eyebrows pick me up and in fact just straightening my hair once in a while feels amazing x
These self care routine is absolutely what we all need to make us feel a lot better about ourselves especially during these times when we are stuck at home and not seeing all our friends as we would. So glad doing all this makes you happy and a better person
I LOVE face masks and try and do one at least once a week. I’ve also got the bondi sands self-tanning moisturising lotion which is really good!
I love a good face mask – it is a great way to practice self care. I’m having my hair cut and a hair treatment tomorrow too and I can’t wait!
I have been using skinny tan for a few years and it is by far my favourite.
Some excellent tips, my daughter has a routine but would find this interesting so I’ve forwarded it onto to her, great post.
I love painting my nails too, it always makes me feel more together. But due to moving I painted my nails 2-3 weeks ago and now all I have is chipped polish as I’ve not had the time (or energy) to re-do them x
Yes! I love this post, self care is so important. Also, your hair is gorgeous!
I do love a pamper session of hair treatments where I give my hair a bit of tlc and face masks, I am wary of self tanning treatments as always feel they will streak
Your hair looks lovely. I find mine gets split on the ends if I leave it too long.
I always find when I have had a bit of a pamper and a lovely fresh manicure it boosts my confidence for sure x
Oh my goodness, your hair is gorgeous, so long and it looks so healthy. I really love getting a manicure, it’s a proper treat!
I love my Sunday’s self care evenings . It’s so important to keep self care alive as we definitely need it for our wellbeing 🙂 xx
I’ve found it so hard to have any time for self care over the last 4 months as my children have been at home constantly.
I love doing a face mask, gives me 20 minutes of peace and being able to read my book
Self care definitely results in a better overall feeling about yourself. I’ve had more time during lockdown to do self care properly and am definitely feeling more confident because of it. You always look fabulous xx
