London Fashion Week AW15: The Shows

February 26, 2015
This weekend was an exciting one, It was London Fashion Week and I was lucky enough to be invited to some amazing shows. I thought I’d do a round-up post of everything I got up to. Hayley and I traveled down on Friday morning and due to a landslide had to experience what seemed like 10 different trains.

There’s no rest for the wicked, after experiencing delays I hot footed it across town to Bora Aksu at the BFC Courtyard Show Space. As always such a beautiful collection with delicate silhouettes, a victorian vibe and gorgeous crocheted workmanship. I love that the collection is so wearable too and It the finale even led by Laura Whitmore.

I spotted a few celebrities in between shows such as Mollie King, Millie Mackintosh, Michelle Keegan and a few TOWIE/MIC regulars. This season I was really shocked by the whole media circus around them, I haven’t really ever seen it in past seasons but paparazzi were like animals in the courtyard. It’s a shame as Fashion Week shouldn’t be this hullabaloo and you shouldn’t be pushed about by burly men in the courtyard space.

Jean-Pierre Bragazna was my next show also at the BFC Courtyard Show Space. The collection was quite dark with deep purples and greens but I loved the camel shades especially the stand out camel jacket.

I was really excited for the Fyodor Golan as on the ticket it mentioned a collaboration with My Little Pony. We was greeted by a big colourful rainbow. The collection was insanely amazing, completly out there with bright colours, big silhouettes and appliqued little ponies! I particularly loved the baby pink strapless dress worn with the jacket, I included some of my other favorite looks below.

I managed to catch the Paul Costelloe presentation after their actual show. The models were wandering around with big hairstyles and gorgeous garments. The collection saw lot’s of textures with tweed, velvet and lot’s of ruffles. I really loved the variety of silhouettes which were all really wearable and feminine.

The AW15 collection from PPQ was very Victorian and Gothic with lot’s of lace ruffles around the cuffs and hemlines. The collection was completely black and white with classic silhouettes. It was a shame as the show was totally jam packed so I didn’t have a clue what the models looked like waist down.

Saturday morning saw the Orla Kiely presentation set in a mocked up library. The look certainly brought librarian chic to life with lovely prints, cashmere jumpers and full skirts. I loved the adorable pretty collars on the dresses and the over sized jackets especially the amazing cape! We also bumped into Michelle Keegan who posed for a cute photo in the lovely setting. She was wearing the most amazing Sophia Webster heels!

I couldn’t visit London without doing a spot of shopping! I may have gone slightly overboard in KIKO but I’ll leave that for another post. I’m actually heading to London Fashion Weekend today for another fashion-filled day at Somerset House!

I loved looking at all the collections. Didn't realise there would be Turkish designers featured, I love Turkish fashion! And my favourite dress by Bora Aksu is the one on the far left, so floaty and feminine.
