A Luxury Spa Break & Dining at Rockliffe Hall - Rachel Nicole UK Blogger

Post-Lockdown Luxury Breaks in the North East & Yorkshire

It’s been a very strange time in the last couple of months. With everything that was going on, it didn’t feel right to encourage travel during lockdown. Personally, I don’t think I’ll be going abroad anytime soon but with the re-opening of the tourism and hospitality sector on July 4th, I think UK staycations would be a great option for the next couple of months. As I also work in the tourism sector, I am thrilled that things are re-opening but obviously we need it to be as safe as possible. I’ve been looking at some of my favourite luxury stays in the North East & Yorkshire which would be great for a post-lockdown break.

A Luxury Spa Break & Dining at Rockliffe Hall - Rachel Nicole UK Blogger

Rockliffe Hall

Rockcliffe Hall was our last hotel stay before lockdown and it was an absolutely incredible stay. Located close to Darlington, this five star Spa Resort was impeccable when it came to service, food and the most beautiful rooms. At the moment, the Spa hasn’t re-opened but their golf club has re-opened. One of the stand out things about Rockliffe aside from the beautiful interior was their delicious food served in the Orangery. At the moment you can dine there at a limited capacity and they are also offering their delectable Afternoon Teas. Other on-site restaurants plan to open later this month. You can read all about my Stay at Rockliffe Hall here and to book a break either call 01325 729999 or book online.

Discovering Middlesborough & Darlington with Enjoy Tees Valley, Wynyard Hall - Rachel Nicole UK Blogger

Wynyard hall

Another favourite North East hotel that I’ve visited in the last 12 month is Wynyard Hall. This place felt like a royal palace, it’s one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever stayed. Wynyard Hall isn’t too far away from Middlebrough and for an overnight stay, the rooms are so regal and elegant. Whilst dining at Wynyard, the dining room was pretty spread perfect for social distancing. I’m not too sure on the in’s and out’s of Wynyard Hall’s re-opening plan but they plan to do so on the 15th July. You can read all about My Stay at Wynyard Hall here.

An Afternoon at the Rudding Park Hotel Spa, Harrogate - Rachel Nicole UK Blogger

Rudding Park

Although I’ve not had the pleasure of staying overnight at Rudding Park, I couldn’t not add this to my list. I did spend a day at the spa last year and it’s such a beautiful place. Nestled between Harrogate and Knaresborough, this luxury hotel and spa has it all. Obviously, due to government guidelines, I presume the spa won’t be re-opening for a while but the hotel will be opening their doors on the 13th July. The hotel will run at limited capacity but their plan of re-opening can be read here. I think they’ve covered everything including introducing an app for guests to pre-book room service. It’s also worth noting that their golf course has re-opened already. You can read all about my visit to Rudding Park Spa here.

Jesmond Dene House, Newcastle Review - Rachel Nicole UK Blogger

Jesmond dene hotel

Although there has currently been no word on when Jesmond Dene House will re-open, I really wanted to include this one. It’s certainly a hotel to keep on your radar for future reference. The hotel is nestled away in Jesmond Dene, just 10 minutes outside of the Newcastle City Centre. I visited the hotel last October and it was such a lovely stay which included an incredible dinner. We had planned to return this summer as a special treat for my Birthday but we will have to see how things pan out. I’ll try and update this post if I hear anything about the re-opening of the hotel. In the meantime, you can read all about my stay at Jesmond Dene House here.

Tasting The Festive Menu at Dakota Deluxe Leeds - Rachel Nicole UK Blogger

Dakota Deluxe Hotel, Leeds

Finally, we’ve got one of my favourite hotels in Leeds City Centre. I’ve visited the Dakota Deluxe Hotel located on Russell Street in the heart of Leeds a few times for various things from Christmas Dinner, overnight stays and blogger events. It’s a lovely upscale hotel and recently I’ve found rooms starting at £100 per night. The hotel re-opened on July 4th and there are procedures in place to keep guests safe. We are planning an overnight stay in Leeds next month so it’s a hotel to keep in mind. You can read more about my dining experience at Dakota Deluxe Hotel, Leeds.

I’ll be updating this post with more information as the mentioned hotels re-open. I would highly recommend checking the hotel’s procedures before booking and also just double-checking which facilities will be open. Pre-booking to eat will most likely be mandatory wherever you go. If you do decide to take a little trip in the next few weeks, stay safe!

Do you plan on taking any trips in the UK soon? Would you visit the North East or Yorkshire? Or would you go abroad?

XOXO
