What is Hyaluronic Acid? & Why Do I Need It In My Skincare Routine
Now, I’m no skincare expert but It’s something I’ve really enjoyed playing about with the last year or so. There are so many products out there and it’s so important to really nail down your skincare routine and tailor it to your skin to reap in the benefits. It can be pretty daunting to step into the world of skincare, there are so many different and complex names, it’s hard to keep up with what everything is and what they do. There are so many different cosmetic ingredients to everything from Retinol to all kinds of acids. I thought I’d do a post on Hyaluronic Acid as it’s a product which keeps popping up. I’m sure we’ve all seen the L’oreal adverts with Eva Longoria on the TV!

So What is Hyaluronic Acid? Long story short, it’s an ingredient which is all about hydrating the skin. Hyaluronic Acid works as a magnet for moisture and is key for keeping your skin hydrated alongside other key benefits such as leaving skin feeling plump and much more radiant. Something we all want, right? To be honest, up until a few months ago, I wasn’t really that clued up on different ingredients for skincare. Hyaluronic Acid kinda put me off, I mean Acid never really sounds appealing. Although I’ve learnt that there are some great acid peels out there. Hyaluronic Acid doesn’t strip down your skin at all, in fact, it just leaves you with a radiant complexion and feeling super hydrated.

I thought I would also share some of my favourite Hyaluronic Acid products. First up, is the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Sleeping Cream. I’ve been using this on/off for the last six months or so. It’s a very rich sort of cream which leaves your skin super hydrated. It’s excellent if you are wanting that moisture boost alongside leaving your skin super radiant. Neutrogena also has a matching Hydro Boost Face Mask. Now, we all know I love a good facemask and I’ve tried this one a couple of times. It’s great to put on for a pamper night and leaves your skin feeling smooth, soft and super hydrated.

I’ve also been trying out a few things from Make-up Revolution & their partner Revolution Skincare which have so many different skincare products, especially with complicated names and ingredients. I think that will be a post for another day. The one Hyaluronic product I’ve been using though that has really stood out to me is the Hyaluronic Fix which is a fixing spray. So you can use this after applying make-up and not only does it keep your make-up in place, it keeps your skin hydrated and looking radiant. It’s a great affordable product to have in your make-up bag. Especially on warmer days when your make-up tends to slip and slide off your face, this fixing it in place alongside having the Hylaronic benefits!
Have you tried anything with Hyaluronic Acid in it?
