I’m finally back with another instalment of The Sunday Roast Diaries. I’ve actually got a few other posts for this series lined up so keep your eye out every Sunday! Today’s is a little bit different from your average Sunday Roast Dinner but I thought I would still write about it. About a month ago, I was in Manchester for the Blog at the Beach event. Myself and Jessica were spending the weekend exploring Manchester and we decided to go to Yard & Coop. I’ve actually been before with my Mum before we went to see the Spice Girls in May and I absolutely loved it.
Yard & Coop specialises primarily in fried chicken which is completely up my alley. The restaurant is located in the Northern Quarter and if you are walking past, you’ll notice the HUGE chicken outside! They also have restaurants in Liverpool and now Leeds (which I’m going to plan a visit very soon!).
You are still probably wondering how a fried chicken place fits in with The Sunday Roast Diaries. Well… presenting “Winner Winner Chicken Dinner”. Obviously, it’s not your traditional Sunday Lunch but it’s served with two Yorkshire Puddings which is good enough for me. The Winner Winner Chicken Dinner dish is buttermilk fried chicken with delicious mashed potato, crispy kale, two Yorkshire puddings and gravy. Trust me, it’s absolutely delicious and a winning combination. I also added a side of their incredible Mac N Cheese as I had it before and it’s always worth ordering Mac N Cheese.
Although the menu at Yard & Coop is mainly chicken, they do cater to veggies. There is the “Not Chicken Nuggets” and these are crumb-coated halloumi nuggets. Jessica went for those with sweet potato fries and a side of bang-bang cucumber. Her meal also looked super yummy!
Although this isn’t your average Sunday Roast, I would highly recommend checking out Yard & Coop and the Winner Winner Chicken Dinner was definitely a winner for me! I’m a huge chicken lover so this restaurant is perfect for me. I’ll certainly be checking out the new Leeds restaurant soon. For now, the Sunday Roast Diaries will be back next Sunday for a Leeds based Roast…
