It’s time for another instalment of the Sunday Roast Diaries and this time we actually had a Sunday roast on a Friday. Miller & Carter were offering their Sunday Roast Sharer all Easter weekend so we decided to give it a go!

It was the Miller & Carter Steakhouse in York that we paid a visit too. It’s a pretty new restaurant, only opening it’s doors last year. It was our first time dining at this particular Miller & Carter Steakhouse and i was really excited to see what it was like. Located on Lendal in the old post office, it’s interiors was stunning.

Prior to the visit, I also signed up for their loyalty scheme online, which meant I got a complimentary glass of fizz! It seems that you can collect stamps every time you visit and also they have different offers and rewards every so often!

Once seated with my complimentary glass of fizz we ordered some Sourdough bread and butter served with extra-virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar to begin with. I am a total sucker for Sourdough and this was served warm. It was just exactly what I was wanting to nibble on whilst we waited for our main course. Other nibbles available were cheesy garlic bread, halloumi fries and olives.

As I mentioned with it being Easter weekend the Sunday Sharer platter was available all weekend! Whilst all the main courses and steak options sounded amazing, I thought it would be a great time to try the Sunday Sharer!

The Miller & Carter Sunday Sharer includes half a succulent Shropshire roast chicken, Lamb rump and a 30 day aged 12oz ribeye steak. The three meats were accompanied by a camembert mash potato, crispy roast potatoes and a Yorkshire pudding each. Additionally, we also had unlimited sautéed greens and carrots and the signature beef dripping gravy.

I’ve got to say the 12oz ribeye steak was the absolute highlight for me. I guess that isn’t a surprise considering we were in a steakhouse but it was 10/10. Full of so much flavour. It was also quite nice to have the lamb rump on the Sunday Sharer as it’s not something I would usually order. With the three meats, there was certainly enough food for the two of us.

Another highlight for me was the camembert mashed potato. It’s not something you get often anywhere. It was just so delicious having that extra indulgence of the camembert cheese mixed in. To be honest, I didn’t have any faults with any of the sides, or any of the meal. It was all so delicious! I also mentioned that it was unlimited greens, carrots and gravy but we were so full we didn’t request any extra!

The Sunday Sharer was around £70 for the two of us, £35 each is not bad for the amount of food that we had and the quality of the meat. I certainly would be back for the Sunday Sharer, if not to try that regular menu. Overall, I was really impressed and Miller & Carter in York would definitely be an excellent place to celebrate a special occasion or even just a date night.

Have you been to Miller & Carter Steakhouse? Did you know about their Sunday Sharer?

XOXO
