After recently visiting Rudding Park Spa in Harrogate and using some Elemis products in one of the Spa’s workshop, I thought I would pick up a few items to try myself. One of the stand out products was the Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm. I’ve heard about it before as I know it’s a firm favourite amongst bloggers and I can see why. I picked up the Cleansing Balm from Notino.co.uk and resisted other Elemis products – for now!
When it comes to cleansers, I pretty much only really use the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish which is more of a cream consistency. I’m not going to lie, I absolutely love that cleanser but it’s time to try something new! The Elemis Cleanser is a balm so you scoop the product out of the tub and apply to the face. As instructed by the lovely lady at the spa, it’s best to apply cleansers or any skincare products in upward motions so you don’t drag your skin down. I started applying the cleanser from my neck upwards, making sure my face is dry before massaging and removing with a warm cloth.
If you are wanting a more intense treatment you can leave the product on for around 10 minutes before removing. I haven’t tried that yet but for the last couple of weeks I’ve been using it to remove make-up and it’s done a fantastic job and left my skin feeling fresh, soft and just overall, pretty great.
The product itself is a really rich consistency but you can tell it really nourishes the skin. The ingredients include Elderberry, Starflower and Optimega Oils as well as Padina Pavonica. Up until my visit to the spa, I’d never heard of Padina Pavonica but apparently, it’s a very important ingredient to a skincare routine. I believe it’s actually some type of seaweed found in the Mediterranean Sea but this apparently really helps with moisturising the skin and keeping it firm!
At the moment, this has now become my everyday cleanser. I’m glad I’ve tried something different and I’m really enjoying the balm and find that this product really does get into all the crooks of your face to remove any make-up or just everyday grime. I can very much see why this cleanser is a favourite amongst bloggers. I’ll be trying a few more cleansers over the next couple of months as I’ve also picked up the Pixi X Caroline Hirons Double Cleanser which I’m very excited about.
