Having your wedding at Christmas is always a great way to celebrate. The winter wonderland feeling is such a romantic vibe, and gives you the perfect excuse to decorate with a wintery theme; the perfect Christmas scene. Planning a wedding can be difficult, and there is a lot to think about! I’ve put together a blog post all about planning a Christmas wedding and a few of the things you need to consider before your big day. We’ve teamed up with Alterations Boutique, experts in wedding dress alterations, to help you plan your perfect Christmas wedding.
When it comes down to it, your dress is probably one of the most important features of your wedding day. With a themed wedding, you should consider how your dress will look in your overall vision of your big day. Opt for something that fits your winter wonderland theme, rather than a slinky dress that feels more suited for the beach. Sparkly ball gowns are always a great option for a winter feeling, but if this isn’t your personality, there is no need to worry! Any style can work as long as it is what you feel like yourself in.
If you feel your dress isn’t fitting the winter theme enough, adding some sparkly appliques to your gown can make a big difference. Tulle with small glitter details all over it is a great way to incorporate your winter theme in a more subtle way, and you will shine whenever the light hits you.
Small details can make a big difference to the theme of your wedding. If you are going for a wintery Christmas theme, white and light blue details can create the perfect winter wonderland experience. This can be incorporated into your flowers, seat covers, name cards and anything else you would like! It can also be nice to have some sparkle around the room, maybe even a Christmas tree if you really want to get into the festive spirit!
If you are planning on doing some DIY decorations, paper snowflakes spread across the tables are great little touch. You can even have a fun crafts table where people can make some themselves, which is particularly great for keeping little ones occupied.
If there is one thing Christmas and weddings both have in common, it’s that everybody loves the food. Christmas food gives you that feeling of family and togetherness that you crave for throughout the year. Having a Christmas themed wedding is the perfect excuse to have Christmas dinner more than once a year! Roast turkey, delicious stuffing, pigs in blankets – all of this can create the perfect wedding day meal. Whether you want this as a sit down meal or a buffet, everybody is sure to remember the delicious food they had on your wedding day.
When planning your Christmas wedding, these are a few of the things you should consider! Will you be having a winter wonderland wedding? Let us know in the comments!
