TV Shows I’ve Been Loving Recently

I’ve drafted a few posts in the last couple of months of what I’ve been watching on TV and streaming platforms. I thought it was about time I actually published a post about my TV viewing habits. We’re lucky that we have accounts for Netflix, Prime and Disney+ and Sky. There have been some great releases recently. We’re really lucky to have Cable TV as there is so much choice. It’s crazy when you look at the history of Cable TV and how much is has evolved. I am always looking for new recommendations of things to watch so I love these kinds of blog posts. I’ve already got a few more TV shows on my list that I need to watch.

The Flight Attendant

One of the latest TV Shows which I have recently binge-watched is The Flight Attendant on Sky Atlantic. The show stars Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco who is amazing in this. The show is panned a comedy-drama, I didn’t find it that comedic though. It follows the story of Kaley’s character who is a Flight Attendant and ends up going out in Bangkok with one of her passengers and the next morning she wakes up and he’s dead. She can’t remember what happened. Whilst you do watch the series to find out what happened to her man friend, the main storyline is mainly about her personal development and her relationship with alcohol too. I really enjoyed watching it. In fact, I probably watched all 8 episodes in two days.

The Undoing

I think we watched this a few months ago but I would highly recommend watching The Undoing. It was another one on Sky Atlantic and starred Nicole Kidman, Hugh Grant and Donald Sutherland. It followed Hugh Grant’s character getting accused of murdering his mistress in New York City. You’ll be accusing all sorts of people of the murder and it has you second-guessing everyone.  It was wildly gripping and I believe from the same people who did Big Little Lies (which I LOVED). My only annoyance with it was that the ending was quite disappointing and I know it did get criticised a lot. I’d still recommend watching it though!

This Is My House

Another programme I have been avidly watching every week on the BBC is “This Is My House”. I don’t think this is for everyone but the show is presented by Stacey Dooley and with a panel of celebrities, they have to choose from a line-up of four people whose house they are in. The four contestants need to convince the judges it’s their house and it’s just hilarious as these people are full-on acting and it can get very catty. It’s a light watch and is currently on every Thursday evening at 9pm.

Schitt’s Creek

It’s safe to say I’m OBSESSED with Schitt’s Creek. I think I first discovered this show on Netflix last Autumn and it’s been a permanent fixture on our TV. I’ve already probably watched every episode 20 times. It’s just one of those shows which are perfect to have on in the background for a few laughs. Coincidentally, I’ve also just re-watched every episode of The Big Bang Theory on Netflix. It’s such an easy watch, hilarious and heartwarming in places. The series follows the Rose family who are a rich family that fall from grace. After having everything taken away from them, they are left with one thing; a town (Schitt’s Creek) that was bought as a joke. They end up living in the local motel and it’s just such a good watch. You won’t regret giving this a watch, I promise!

The Circle

The recent series of The Circle has just finished on Channel 4 and I was hooked. We watched it every night without fail. If you’ve not seen The Circle you need to check it out. It’s essentially a game show in which contestants live in the same flat block and only communicate through messages. These contestants could be themselves or playing a catfish, whoever is the most popular wins £100k. The US version of The Circle is on Netflix and is currently on my watch list!

Line of Duty

Everyone and their mother (literally) have been watching Line of Duty. I didn’t want to miss out so I’ve started watching it on a Sunday, I mostly have no clue what’s going on as I’ve not seen the previous series. However, it seems most viewers have no idea what’s going on. Every episode ends on the most shocking cliff hanger and I’m already looking forward to next weeks. If you’ve not heard about Line of Duty it’s a police drama that mainly focuses on the AC-12 department and investigating “bent coppers”. I think we will now need to start watching this from the beginning though!

My list of TV shows to watch is always growing. At the moment, I’ve got The Bold Type, The Syndicate and countless documentaries on Netflix. I’ve also already watched The Night Stalker and The Vanishing at The Cecil Hotel. I’d thoroughly recommend it if you’re into Crime Documentaries. Do let me know below if you’ve got any TV Shows you’d recommend and what you’ve been watching lately.

XOXO
