Over the last month or two, I’ve picked up a few items from Notino.co.uk and I thought I’d do a little haul and share my first impressions with you. Just for complete transparency, I do work with Notino.co.uk who have kindly gifted me these items to try out and see what I think. If you’ve followed me for a long time, you’ll know I do tend to stick to using the same few products but in 2019, I’ve really started trying other things and I’ve definitely found some new favourites and fingers crossed there will be some new ride or die products in this haul.
Starting off with a product as recommended by the skincare queen that is Caroline Hirons. One of the main problems I have with my skin is dealing with redness which is why I really wanted to give the Avene Redness-Relief Refreshing Cleansing Lotion a go. I got this huge 400ml bottle for £15.90 (200ml was £14.40?!). I’ve not actually used it yet but I’m very keen to do so. I’m pretty much at the end of my Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish which I’ve been using for ages and I thought it’s time to try something else. Avene is a brand which I haven’t really explored so it will be great to give this a go. I’m sure if it goes down well, it’ll be making another appearance on my blog or Instagram.
Another eyeshadow palette was the last thing I needed in my collection but I’ve heard so much about the Soph Does Nails for Make-up Revolution that I wanted to see it for myself. The palette is called “Extra Spice” and has 18 shadows including one called Infinity which was really calling out to me. To be honest, that shade alone was my main reason for picking up the palette. Make-Up Revolution is such a great brand as it’s affordable and pretty good quality. I’ve always been pretty impressive with their shadows and this one is no different. I can’t wait to play around with this a little more and create some great eye looks, especially with infinity!
I’ve been using the Lancaster After Sun and Tan Accelerator for the face for the last couple of weeks since my trip to Rhodes. I’m not sure I would go as far as saying it accelerated my tan. Maybe because my face wasn’t *that* tanned but this product did smell amazing and was so moisturising after a day in the sun. It is a little pricey at £14 and in future, I probably would just stick to using a regular after sun but I’m going to keep using it as I just love the smell!
This is another product I’ve been using on holiday and I became a little bit obsessed with it. The Nuxe Multi-Purpose Illumination Dry Oil gives you such a body glow, it was perfect for an evening out on holiday or even a night out back at home. I just love the glow you get from it. However, it can be a little messy so I just pop it on with a massive buffer brush and even it across my collarbone, shoulders and arms. This is definitely a product I’ll be using all summer. It does say you can also use this on your face and hair but I’ve not tried that yet and I wouldn’t be too sure about popping it in my hair!
Another new favourite of mine is the MAC Blush in the shade Melba. I’m not a huge fan of wearing blush every day and I also find it super hard to pick out blush shades, especially online when you have no idea what suits you. I hit jackpot with Melba though which is this gorgeous coral/peach shade. It goes amazing if you’re looking a little bronzed and it’s a big favourite of mine at the moment!
I’m always on the lookout for a new lip balm as my lips always seem to be dry! I’d heard good things about the Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream Lip Balm and thought I’d give it a go! Can you believe I’ve never actually used the famous Eight Hour Cream from Elizabeth Arden?! I may have to pick it up soon. The Lip balm is really lovely and does have a slight tingling sensation and keeps your lips moisturised for a good few hours. However, I’m not too sure if it’s as good as the NUXE Reve De Miel Lip Balm which has been a favourite of mine for years.
Finally, I thought I would mention Dior’s Backstage Foundation Sponge. As I picked this up a couple of weeks ago as I saw it on Alice Anne’s Instagram. I’ve not yet used it yet so I can’t really say too much. I guess you can’t really say too much about a sponge anyway but at a price point of £15, I would want this to apply my make-up like a dream.
I feel like I’ve had a mixed bag for new additions to my beauty collection. Some items have completely blown me away and are new favourites in my collection. Stay tuned as I will be giving updates on my Instagram and most likely a few more beauty blog posts coming your way on my blog.
Have you tried any of these products? What are your current Spring Beauty favourites?
