Lindner City Plaza Hotel, Cologne

My trip to Cologne seems like a million moons ago now. It was my first ever trip to Germany and it really did surpass my expectations. Hayley and I had flown out for the Essence Beauty Blogger’s Secret’s Party at the Art’otel. We decided to stay an extra night and explore Cologne further. The Lindner City Plaza Hotel is a short walk from the city centre and no more than €5 in a taxi. We were booked into a First Class King Size room with breakfast and access to the first class suite.

On arrival, the hotel looked quite average from the outside. The lobby was very modern sophisticated glamour complete with a hammock! I was seriously loving the decor from the moment we arrived. Check-in was very simple, we was given a key card for our room on the 5th floor and our card gave us access to a first class suite also on the same floor.

On arrival to the room, we were greeted by some lovely members of staff who had brought up some local treats and an apple for us. The room was lovely with the most comfortable bed. We had our own bathrobes and slippers, within 10 minutes I have thoroughly made myself comfortable. Our hotel also had a spa but unfortunately, we didn’t have enough time to go check it out.

I’ve never come across a hotel which has a first class suite like this. Let me know down below if you have. So this suite was located at the end of our floor and looked like any other room from the outside. Inside there was plenty of comfy seats, magazines and a kitchen full of complimentary pastries, soft drinks, a coffee machine and sweets. The first thing I noticed was that there was also a roof top terrace which was perfect in the beautiful weather. We had a tough time leaving the hotel as we would’ve loved to have stayed out on the terrace. After 6pm, we were informed that hot meals would be available in the suite along with beer and wine. I personally loved the first class suite and I think every hotel should have one!Lindner City Plaza Hotel, Cologne Germany - Rachel Nicole UK Travel Blogger 4

The Hotel actually has a Steak & Grill Restaurant which was reasonably priced but we decided to venture into the city for food. When we returned to the hotel, we headed unto the first class lounge and had a hot chocolate before bed. The drinks and snacks are available 24/7 which is great. When we headed to bed, there was a little noise coming from a nearby nightclub but I was so shattered I fell asleep straight away.Lindner City Plaza Hotel, Cologne Germany - Rachel Nicole UK Travel Blogger 5 Lindner City Plaza Hotel, Cologne Germany - Rachel Nicole UK Travel Blogger 7

The breakfast buffet in this place is certainly the best I’ve ever had. An incredible selection of bread, pastries, cereals, hot food and best of all, a waffle machine! We were very much spoilt for choice, I went for pancakes, maple syrup and bacon. Breakfast in this hotel is very much worth considering.

We really did have a lovely stay at the Lindner City Plaza Hotel and I would consider staying there again. The first class lounge was a fab addition to the hotel. I was kindly invited by Visit Cologne to stay at the Lindner City Plaza Hotel but all thoughts and opinions are my own. Business Rooms are available from €89, find out more information here.

Have you been to Cologne before? Have you heard of these first class lounges?

XOXO

Those pancakes look incredible too.. I’m all about pancakes when I’m away. It sounds pretty reasonably priced too.

  2. Cologne is definitely on my places to visit list! We stayed in a hotel recently on the Isle of Arran that had an executive lounge like that one – they had jelly beans, Tunnocks teacakes and strawberry laces. I basically wanted to live in there!
