Rating Quick Service Restaurants at Walt Disney World

I’m finally back with another foodie post from our trip to Walt Disney World, Florida. Our trip was back in May but I’ve still got so much content I want to share with you all. We stayed on Walt Disney World property at the Pop Century Resort so we did do a lot of eating within Walt Disney World. If you’ve not seen it already, I did do a post Rating all Table Service Restaurants we visited at Walt Disney World. This post is all about the quick service restaurants we visited in the parks. You may think it’s all burgers, hot dogs and chicken strips (which still a favourite of mine) but you can find some amazing dishes even at the quick service restaurants. I’ll also be doing a snacks blogpost too, because nothing really beats Disney snacks.

Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe – 8/10

Our first quick service visit was on our first evening in Magic Kingdom. Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe is located in between Tomorrowland and new fantasyland and it’s a firm favourite of mine. Whilst is does sell your typical fast food dishes with lot’s of burgers, fries and chicken strips, it’s good quality. It’s also reasonably priced for Disney, got A LOT of seating and also there is Sonny Eclipse (an alien) DJ’ing whilst you eat!

They do run special burgers throughout the year. Whilst we were there there was the Mission to Mars burger which was part of the 50th Anniversary menu. This burger had crushed cheesy Wotsits on top of the bun with bacon, mac and cheese on the burger. Neither of us got this which I do regret not trying it. At the moment, they have a speciality Halloween burger!

Rating Quick Service Restaurants at Walt Disney World - Friars Nook

Friar’s Nook – 9.5/10

So good we went twice. Friar’s Nook was basically my Tater Tot heaven. Also located in Magic Kingdom, this was a great spot for lunch. I picked up the Tater Tots served with Mac & Cheese, Bacon, Sour Cream and Spring Onions. Basically all my favourite things. The portions are decent and it makes a great little lunch in between snacks your way around the park. Stefan picked up the Bratwurst also served with Tater Tots. For the 50th Anniversary Celebrations they had Wild Toad Brat Burger which had olives for eyes – It looked pretty good even though we didn’t order it. However, we did get the speciality Wild Ride slush which was sour cherry, raspberry and apple. I really liked it but it was a little bit sickly. It’s worth noting this place does usually close around 5pm so it’s no good for an evening meal.

Rating Quick Service Restaurants at Walt Disney World - Flame Tree BBQ

Flame Tree BBQ – 6/10

I do think that Animal Kingdom lacks quick service places for breakfast. On one of our days in Animal Kingdom, we ended up waiting until 10.30am when lunch spots started to open. We headed over to Flame Tree BBQ where there was lots of BBQ food like pulled pork, smoked chicken and ribs. A tad early for it but we were starving. I got the Mac & Cheese with Pulled Pork and Stefan got the Smoked Pulled Pork Sandwich. I’ve got to say the Pulled Pork was absolutely divine. However, the Mac & Cheese was pretty poor – certainly not as good as Friar’s Nook in Magic Kingdom. Overall, the food was pretty average so I’m giving it a 6 out of 10 as left most of the Mac & Cheese – which is very unlike me!

Rating Quick Service Restaurants at Walt Disney World - Casey's Corner

Caseys Corner – 8/10

Casey’s Corner is an absolute classic in Magic Kingdom. A must visit. Casey’s Corner specialise in Hot Dogs and Corn Dogs. Stefan was in his absolute element here. We actually visited a few times during our two weeks in Florida. Twice at park closing. Whilst the park hours advertised closing at 11pm, many stores and Casey’s Corner were open later. The park was pretty much empty and we got to enjoy our food from Casey’s Corner sat in front of the Castle. It’s one of my favourite memories. They have a few variations of Hot Dogs but we stuck with the classic and it’s an absolute staple when visiting the parks.

Satu’li Canteen, Pandora – 8/10

Satu’li Canteen is a huge quick service place in the heart of Pandora. We were on a mission to grab their famous Cheeseburger Steamed pods which essentially are Cheeseburger Bao Buns. Let me tell you these did not disappoint. They were served with some seasoned crisps (chips if you’re American) and a salad. We were really impressed with these! If you’re dining here, you really need to make sure you visit Pongu Pongu for a Night Blossom drink which is honestly life changing. A Night Blossom and the Cheeseburger Pods are an excellent combo.

Woody’s Lunchbox – 9/10

Another new place I was very excited to try was Woody’s Lunchbox in Toy Story Land at Hollywood Studios. This place is great. Although the seating is limited so you might be waiting around for somewhere to sit for a while. Here you’ll find turkey sandwiches, grilled cheese sandwiches and BBQ Brisket melts. The food is absolutely delicious and well priced. I actually got a kid’s meal which included half a grilled cheese sandwich but came with a side of tater tots, a tomato soup and a drink all for $6.99. Although it was half a sandwich, the sides made up for it and I think it was incredible value!

Chicken Guy! Disney Springs – 9/10

Finally, I wanted to include Chicken Guy! in Disney Springs. Although this is a chain restaurant, we wanted to give it a go. There’s over 20 different sauces which can be paired with fried chicken, burgers, tenders and salad bowls. It was really good quality food and worth the visit on our last day in Florida. I’d definitely recommend stopping by if you’re a big chicken lover like us and are wanting something quick.

There is certainly more to Walt Disney World’s quick service restaurants than just burgers and chicken tenders. Not that I have anything against Chicken Tenders as WDW do them very well. There is some really good quality options and if you do a little research you’ll come across some gems. Personally, Friar’s Nook, Woody’s Lunchbox and Satu’li Canteen are all must visits for me!

XOXO
