I think I first heard about the Maybelline Colour 24hr Tattoo Gel Shadow’s when Estee Lalonde mentioned the shade On and On Bronze and being the must have make-up item at the time. I remember the shade been out of stock for ages. I finally got my hands on it and it has been a staple in my make-up bag ever since. On and On Bronze is this gorgeous metallic bronze shade which just seems to universally suit everyone. I’ve now got two more shades from Beautyspin.co.uk, the first shade I went for Eternal Silver which is just an incredible silver shade. I was feeling inspired from all the metallic make-up looks at the Met Gala, especially Kristen Stewarts. The second shade I got was called Permanent Taupe which is a little darker than what I would usually go for but I really like it.
So these shadows are called Gel Shadows, so they are uber creamy and really pigmentated. They are very much like the MAC Paintpots, which I only own one in Painterly. I find that the Maybelline Gel Shadows are much more creamier and easier to blend. I also believe that Maybelline do a dupe for Painterly which I obviously need. I will have to look out for that as it’s a really good shade for a base on the eyelid.
On and On Bronze, Eternal Silver* and Permanent Taupe*
As you can see on the swatches, they are really pigmentated. I’ve also had no problems with them smudging or creasing. The packaging claims that they last 24hr, I personally haven’t left them on that long. I’d say the longevity of them is really good and they are really quite the bargain when you compare them to MAC’s paintpots.
Have you used these shadows? Are you a fan of cream shadows?
