New Additions to my Make-Up Bag 2016

Over the past few weeks, I’ve treated myself to a couple of new items of make-up. I tend to have a big splurge every four months or so on a few bit’s and recently I have become a little bit obsessed with pretty eyeshadow palettes, I even made a wishlist here and as you can see I’ve picked up two off my list!

The Balm Nude’Tude Palette was on my wishlist from last month and I was so incredibly happy to find this lurking in the beauty aisle of TK:Maxx for half the retail price. If you follow me on Twitter, you’ll know I have a complete love/hate relationship with TK:Maxx’s beauty section, sometimes you can find some amazing bargains but sometimes everything you find has been touched and tampered with which is just completely unhygienic and horrible. Safe to say, I was very pleased that the Nude’Tude Palette hadn’t been opened and tampered with – It was a miracle! The palette has a mix of twelve mattes and shimmers and I actually used it today and It’s got some gorgeous shades.

The Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette was also on last month’s wishlist and also my Christmas wishlist so I thought it was about time I treated myself after eyeing it up for so long. Too Faced is a brand that I only recently discovered and their Melted Lipsticks have become firm favourites in my make-up bag so I have very high hopes for this palette. The shadows are made with 100% cocoa powder and smell like chocolate, I also have to mention that the packaging is amazing! There is a lovely range of matte and shimmer shadows and I am so excited to use ‘Black Forest Truffle’ and ‘Candied Violet’ – They are a little different to what I usually wear but will definatly create a glamorous eye look.

I spent my Boots advantage card points on the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation after much deliberation. I had tried this foundation in-store before and really liked it so decided to spend my points on this. Since trying it for myself, (which I’ve only tried it once) I’ve not liked this as much I wanted to but as it’s quite a light to medium coverage (which I like quite a full coverage) I think I need to work with it and get used it a little more. I’m going to report back on this one.

Mehr by MAC is a matte lipstick I have been looking to buy for such a long time. Every time I swatched it in-store (amongst others) it really stood out to me. I wore this today and absolutely love the shade, it’s a brownish pink but really wearable and for me, the perfect neutral. I can already tell that this lippy is going to be a new favourite of mine.

I haven’t used any MAC Paint Pots but I wanted to get the shade Painterly to use as a base for my eyes. I really needed something to substitute my go-to base which is from the Naked Basics palette and I’ve quickly hit pan on it (I think it’s Stark). I’ve heard really great things about the paint pots but I haven’t used this yet but I do have really high hopes for this.

Have you used any of these products? Would you like to see full reviews of any of these? Have you treated yourself this month?

XOXO

  2. I really want to try a Chanel foundation but I prefer full coverage too, so this one probably isn't the one for me either 🙂 might be good for the summer though!
