New York City – Day 6

September 6, 2012
WAAAA 🙁 Day 6 was the last day! I really didn’t want to go home! First thing we did was jump in a taxi and head to The Met. I had heard on Twitter that Gossip Girl was filming in the area but all i could see was people setting up and no trailers or anything. Later on i found out that whilst i was there Blake and Penn were filming just behind in Central Park and later on (way after i was gone) Leighton filmed on the Met Steps! Been a Gossip Girl fan i had to get my photo took on the Met Steps and i won’t lie for that 2 minutes i felt like Blair Waldorf!

Blair Waldorf babbyyy!
Me and my mum did mooch around The Met, we got lost.. as usual. Mum wanted to see the armories and we ended up going to see about Musical Intruments. We also found the Modern Art after wandering aimlessly for an hour only to find that most of it was shut as they were opening a big Andy Warhol section in October.

How cool is this? You get a little badge to wear instead of getting a ticket to go inside!
Me and Mum at this little waterfall made by Tiffany’s!

We then wandered around the Upper East Side for a bit and then caught the subway to 7th Avenue. We ended up going to Dunkin’ Dohnuts for lunch and then to the Fashion Insitute of Technology. The were holding an exhibition at the museum there which showed some of their best items in their archieve. I wasn’t allowed to take photos though but they had some gorgeous items! Across at the main entrance to get in was a little show about what the Students had been doing, which was all inspired by Barbie. Below is my favourite!

We just walked up 7th Avenue via some shops and The Fashion Walk of Fame and then headed back to the hotel.

Outside Madison Square Gardens!
I thought JFK (Terminal 8) was pretty rubbish. I spent my whole time in McDonalds as the Duty Free wasn’t much there. I did purchase $15 worth of magazines though. We flew home with American Airlines which was possibly the worst flight i have ever had. It was through the night so i tried to sleep but didn’t end up getting a wink. It was lightening outside at one point, no blankets or pillows available, 2 hours of crazy turbulence, a guy passed out and Mum was pissed because there was no alcohol on board! Suprisingly, I’m not THAT traumatized about it.

Hauls & Birthday Posts coming soon! Im moving to Birmingham on Saturday and i’m terrified! I don’t want to leave home even if it’s only for uni! I’m gunna miss my mum so much but i’m just going to learn to deal with it! xo

I think if I was to go to New York a lot of my trip would be based around Gossip Girl ha ha! The places in it look amazing! It's a shame you missed the filming. 🙂 xx
