Rating Table Service Restaurants at Walt Disney World
I’m finally getting round to doing a few blogposts on my trip to Walt Disney World. We went for two weeks in May and stayed on Walt Disney World property at Pop Century. I’m going to do a few more blogposts on where we stayed and things we did. However, we will start off with the most important topic… Food! We were lucky to dine at some really lovely places at Walt Disney World and booked the majority 60 days in advance. The reservations go live 60 days before your holiday at 11am UK time.
Another thing to mention was that we was given a $500 on a gift card to spend on dining as part of our booking with Walt Disney World. This lasted longer than we thought and I believe is included in next year’s deal too. It’s essentially a replacement to the dining plan. As we were staying in a value resort, it was around $36 per day but moderate and deluxe resorts get more. Overall, we had some great experiences in the 8 table service restaurants we visited and I’d only been to one before!

House of blues, Disney Springs – 6/10
On our first proper evening at Walt Disney World, we visited House of Blues in Disney Springs. This is the one restaurant which I had previously visited (actually twice). The restaurant also has a music venue attatched and plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy a few drinks with live music. I really like the ambiance here. The menu does have a few southern and BBQ style dishes with ribs, jambalaya and smoked brisket on the menu. We both went for burgers (if you’ve seen Tiktoks, Stefan had ALOT of burgers on this holiday). I thought the food was good, nothing special though. I found that it was your typical chain restaurant standard but I do like the vibe of House of Blues.

sci-fi dine IN THEATRE, Hollywood Studios – 7.5/10
On the second day of our holiday, we spent the day in Hollywood Studios. Since my last visit, Galaxy’s Edge and Toy Story land had opened and it’s really improved the park. In fact, I think it could be up there for been the best park. We booked into the Sci-Fi Dine In Theatre which I’ve never been to before. The concept is that you are at a drive-in cinema sitting in vintage cars to eat your meal. I do love the theme of this restaurant. It’s pretty surreal to go in here as it’s so dark and cool compared to the blazing sunshine outside.
I think the menu has changed since we visited in May but I decided to get two appetizers for my meal. I got the crispy onion rings and crispy buffalo chicken. The chicken was a little bit spicy but rather nice and the onion rings were 10/10. I totally get that it’s not a proper meal but it’s just what I was fancying at the time and also we’d been snacking all morning. Stefan got a turkey and bacon sandwich which came with thick fries. I also got the EARidescent Sip-abration drink which came with a Disney character to drop into the drink and make it fizz. This was a speciality item for the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebrations.Stefan got a milkshake. We both thought the food was really nice but the novelty of sitting in the cars is what really sold it to us.

Oga’s Cantina, Hollywood Studios – 9.5/10
One reservation we were very excited about was Oga’s Cantina in Galaxy’s Edge at Hollywood Studios. Although this isn’t strictly a dining out option as they don’t do food (they might have the odd snack or two) but you DO need a reservation for Oga’s Cantina. In my opinion, it’s one of the most in demand reservation on Disney Property. Oga’s Cantina is a Star Wars themed bar, I’ve got to say it’s so immersive – It’s incredible.
There isn’t many seats in Oga’s Cantina. If you’re in a large group, you’ll most likely get a booth otherwise you’ll be stood up at the bar (no bar stools) or stood at a high table. That’s the only downside to the place but I guess they’ll be able to get more people in this way. In your reservation, you’ve got just about enough time for drinks until they’ll send you on your way.
The first drinks we got was the Fuzzy Tauntaun which is peach vodka, peach schnapps and orange. However there is a fuzzy foam on the top which makes your whole mouth tingle. You do get a warning of “side effects” when ordering. Stefan went for the Jedi Mind Trick which was an insane blue drink concocted of grapefruit and rose vodka and blue curaçao. Then we decided to share a third drink and got the Bespin Fizz which was Rum and Pomegranate Juice. The fun thing about this was that it was bubbling away. This one was definitely my favourite out of the three.

Trattoria Al Forno, The Boardwalk – 6.5/10
We managed to get a last minute reservation for Trattoria Al Forno on The Boardwalk. On this evening, the weather was insanely bad. Just as we got to the restaurant the heavens opened. We did check in for our reservation but we waited over an hour to be seated. It was absolute chaos in the waiting area which was a major downside. When we finally got seated, the menu had some great choices. Everything that we saw getting served looked amazing. The restaurant has a great atmosphere too. We both ordered pizzas which were pretty good. I did however, have regrets for not getting their Lasagne as it looked incredible. We did have a lovely evening but it was a shame about the insane wait.

The Yachtsman Steakhouse, The Yacht Club – 9/10
Dining at The Yachtsman Steakhouse at The Yacht Club was our one big splurge meal. We both dressed up and treated this as a really nice date night. We did have a few issues with checking in with our reservation and waiting for a table. Personally, we didn’t wait too long and found that the cast members looked after us perfectly. However there was quite a few other guests kicking off.
We were seated probably after 20 minutes in the main dining room with Thomas being our server. I’ve got to say he was so helpful and we loved him! The Yachtsman is obviously on the pricier scale with our New York Strip Steak costing $56. We got them with the most amazing mashed potato and truffle fries. The food was amazing and service top notch. Top things off we could see the Epcot Fireworks from the window. Truly magical.

Ohana’s, The Polynesian Resort – 9/10
I was super excited about visiting Ohana’s for breakfast. I’d heard some really great things and I’d wanted to visit the restaurant and resort on my previous trips. However, this was my first time visiting and it didn’t disappoint. Stitch did used to be at Ohana’s but when we visited, he still wasn’t there sadly. He’s returning in September apparently – Maybe an excuse for another trip ha!? However, everything else about our visit was spot on. I was so thrilled to be seated right next to the window with a Magic Kingdom view. I can only imagine how incredible it would be to see the fireworks on an evening from here.
The breakfast at Ohana’s is served all you care to eat in a family style skillet. We had sausages, ham, scrambled egg, potato wedges, Stitch Waffles, biscuits and fruit. The food was really delicious and you could ask for more of what you wanted so we did get a second portion of the sausages, ham and wedges. The breakfast was served with the famous Pog juice which I loved and we even got some in a takeaway cup to go! The breakfast was $25 per person plus tax which I didn’t think was too bad and I believe it was more expensive when characters are there.

Space 220, EPCOT – 8.5/10
Alongside Oga’s Cantina, Space 220 was the other reservation which was so hard to get. Space 220 is the latest restaurant opening in Epcot and transports you 220 miles into space to a space station for food! You can either dine in the main restaurant with a set menu ($55 for a two course lunch or $79 for a three course dinner) or in the lounge where you pay per dish. We opted for the lounge to keep costs down and still get the same sort of dining experience.
We checked in when we arrived before we were given a ticket to board the lift into space. It was a pretty cool experience. When we arrived on the space station, we were escorted to our table. As I mentioned we dined in the lounge which it’s all the same restaurant but these seats are closer to the bar. It still was a great view out the windows of space. I got chicken and waffles and Stefan got the Short Rib Sliders. My dish was okay but I had total food envy of Stefan’s. We also got some zero proof cocktails which we were really impressed with. Overall, it was a great experience and I loved visiting space for lunch.

The Boathouse, Disney Springs – 10/10
I’m saving the best for last. On our final evening, I had booked us into The Boathouse in Disney Springs. This is another place I had wanted to visit for a long time. It came up a lot online when people were discussing their favourite places to eat in Disney Springs. We were sat on the outside terrace which was just utterly lovely. The Boathouse pretty much specialise in Surf and Turf so a lot of seafood and steaks. I’m most likely going to do a full blogpost on our experience so I’ll keep it brief.
Stefan went for the Fresh Mahi Sandwich which he’d never had Mahi before and was impressed and I got the New York Strip Steak which was served with new potatoes and I’ve got to say this was not only the best steak that I had on the holiday, it was the best steak I think I’ve ever had. I also needy to mention the Duck Duck Razz is a must have cocktail! I’d say the service wasn’t the best we had experienced at Walt Disney World but overall, The Boathouse was the best meal we had.
In general, we were really impressed with the food and where we ate at Walt Disney World. The only problem was the waiting after you’d checked in for a booked reservation. Aside from that we absolutely loved the majority of places that we ate at. I’m going to be doing a few more in depth blogposts on food, our hotel and just generally our Florida holiday. If you want to know anything in particular, let me know! I’ve also got a few TikToks including daily vlogs here if you fancy checking them out.
XOXO

It sounds like you had such a lovely time, and ate so much good food! Eating in the cars is such a cool idea, what a fab theme. The breakfast at Ohana looks amazing too and it’s great that you can order more. Hope you had a fab holiday xx
