Festive Gift Guide: Tasty Treats 2020

It’s time for my final Festive Gift Guide. Although, I will be sharing a few more things in upcoming posts highlighting some small businesses and some of my favourite Disney Christmas items. Today is all about the best thing about Christmas; Food & Drink! I don’t know about you, but Christmas is all about the tasty treats. Not only do you need to be fully stocked on Christmas Day but chocolate, gin, hampers and so much more make excellent gifts.

Festive Gift Guide: Tasty Treats

Starting off with this hamper from Bradford Bakers. A hamper is such an excellent gift when it comes to giving at Christmas. I know there are a few foodies in my family, and this is something they would absolutely love. Bradford bakers have so many different hampers featuring all sorts of things from wine, cakes, jams, biscuits and they’re all freshly baked. The hamper above is the Bradford sweet treats box and not only is there some freshly baked goods but there are a few sweeties too.

Christmas is all about chocolate for me which is why I’ve got a few options when it comes to gifting chocolate. We all love a bit of Cadburys chocolate, nobody more than my dad. He’s a massive fan of Cadbury’s chocolate which makes him a great recipient of this amazing box filled with goodies. These chocolate boxes can be bought from Cadbury’s Gifts Direct with a wide selection of chocolates to choose from. In this one which is the Christmas Combination Hamper we have Heroes, Roses, Selection Boxes and of course, a classic bar of dairy milk.

Biscuits are another thing that will always go down a treat. If your struggling for something to buy a loved one, biscuits is always a good shout. These tinned shortbread biscuits are from M&S and come in a musical house! You can wind the tin up and it’ll play a little tune! The great thing about this is that they are only £5 in store!

Although I’m not a huge fan myself, I know one thing that a lot of people love at Christmas is Baileys. Whether it’s just enjoying a glass of Baileys before bed or making a Baileys cocktail –  you could also try out the new Baileys Crackers Chocolates. Bailey’s lovers will love these six mini truffle chocolate’s that come in the cutest little crackers.

If you’re looking to splash out on some luxe chocolate’s for a loved one, Hotel Chocolat is the one for you. You can find a range of luxury chocolate gifts on their website or in-store.  Above is the Mellow Christmas collection which features a range of different chocolate’s featuring a dozen portly penguins, the classic Christmas box and even the sleigh team which is 10 milk chocolate reindeers. The great thing about this is that you could split the collection up and give a few items each to different loved ones. There are a few caramel goodies in here which have got my Mums name on!

I also couldn’t mention Hotel Chocolat without mentioning the famous Velvetiser hot chocolate machine. It’s actually the top of my Christmas list this year, so hopefully Santa will bring me one! This would make an excellent gift for any hot chocolate lover!

Sticking with the Hot Chocolate theme, Whittard have got some amazing Christmas goodies including hot chocolates, teas and coffees. I believe you’d be able to use the Hot Chocolate from these stacking tins in the aforementioned Velvetiser. They have some wonderful Hot Chocolate flavours. You can pair your hot chocolate with some delicious Christmas Pudding All-Butter Biscuits. The Christmas range all come in a rather festive tin!

I couldn’t not mention this next item which I discovered in Asda last week. I think After Eights are the ultimate Christmas Day treat. Although I do admit, I have gone through a few packs recently. I came across this limited edition tin which has two small packets of After Eights in. I thought it would make an excellent gift for those who love After Eights and you can always keep refilling the tin once they’ve been nibbled on! This was only £4 which I thought was a steal!

Moving on to a few alcoholic treats. I’ve got some excellent drinks to show you starting off with this personalised bottle of prosecco from Say it with Champers. You can personalise your Prosecco Bottle with a little message and the date. I think it’s such a great little touch and would be great to give out to loved ones. Say it with Champers have a selection of alcoholic gifts and hampers which can all be personalised but I think the Mini Prosecco is great!

There’s no chance I’d be doing a Gift Guide without including a few bottles of Gin. This Candy Cane Gin Liqueur is the latest creation by Manchester Drinks Co. You can find this exclusively in the aisles Home Bargains. I don’t know what I love the most that it tastes just like Candy Canes with a hint of mint and vanilla or that it’s sparkly! I love a shimmery drink and this is as festive as you can get. It’s about £8 so it’s an absolute steal and would make a great stocking filler or secret Santa gift for a gin lover.

My two favourite things could potentially be Jaffa Cakes and Gin. When I heard that there was an actual Jaffa Cake Gin around, I knew I had to try it. The gin is distilled with orange peel and cocoa powder and I’m not going to lie, it’s actually really nice. It’s one I would choose to have after dinner. According to Master of Malt, it would also make a great Negroni cocktail with the Jaffa Cake Gin. That’s not all! They have also just newly released a Jaffa Cake RUM! The Orange Peel and cocoa powder is blended with Caribbean Rum. These would make a great gift for those who love Gin & Rum and especially trying new flavours!

You might have seen me write about Mermaid Gin before, I absolutely love it. Especially the pink version! The Isle of Wight Distillery has now launched the Mermaid Salt Vodka. The Mermaid collection is very much inspired by the local sea air and the Vodka has a subtle salty savoury note with the suggestion of serving on the rocks. Whilst, I’m more of a Gin girl, this new addition to the Mermaid collection is worth checking out and would make an excellent gift for any budding mixologist.

Finally, we have Bobbys Dry Gin. This is a Dutch Gin released in 2014 which features a recipe from the creator’s Grandfather. This gin has actually garnered quite the fanbase and would go down a treat with those who love a floral gin as it has notes of rose and red berry. Stay tuned on my socials as I’ll be sharing a few recipes with what I’ve done with Bobby’s Dry Gin.

I’m not going to lie, there has been an overload of alcohol in this Festive Gift Guide. If you are feeling overwhelmed with all the options, it might be a good idea to get a Drinks by the Dram collection. The Premium Gin Collection features 12 different gins which you can try and get a taste for each one. The little drams can be used as a large serving but we have stretched it between two drinks and it’s just a great way to try some new spirits. If you know a gin lover, they will absolutely love this gift to try a few new flavours. This collection features Bathtub Gin, Moonshot Gin, Herno Old Tom Gin and many more. It also includes the aforementioned Bobby’s Dry Gin!

You’ll need some glasses for all this alcohol and I love this set from VonHaus. The Gin Glasses Gift Set feature a stirrer, measurer and two very unique glasses. This would be a great addition for anyone who’s a big gin lover. It’s just a lovely little set and perfect for a gin night!

There we have it! Those are my Festive Gift Guides all published. Don’t forget to check the others out, we have For Her, For Him, For Beauty Lovers and For Little Ones. I will be doing a few more festive posts and also plan to share a few things across social media.
