Happy New Year & My 2020 Goals
Happy New Year! Another decade is over and we are now in to the twenties! I started this blog in 2010, it’s my blogging birthday next month and I just can’t believe I’ve had this little space on the internet for 10 years. Who knows, maybe I’ll be still doing this in ten years time. I do try and use the New Year as a fresh start and to create and achieve some goals. The end of 2019 wasn’t great for us with the passing of my Grandma but I’m hoping 2020 brings me some great things.

I think it’s always good to write down your goals for the forthcoming year so you can look back on them. To be honest, my 2019 didn’t really go to plan but I thought I’d give you an update anyway.
2019 Goals
- Visit 5 New Countries – I visited 4 new countries, so not bad!
- Go back to America – Booked for March 2020!
- Learn to Drive – I’m no further with this one, maybe 2020 will be the year?
- Make plans to visit Asia – Most Likely going towards the end of 2020.
- Go on a Road Trip round Scotland – No Road Trip but two trips to Scotland! (My Festive Trip to Edinburgh)
Moving onto 2020 and the goals I’ve set for the next year, including still working on some of my 2019 goals – Hello USA!

2020 Goals
- Visit 5 New Countries
The same as last year, I really want to discover some new countries and cities and my goal again, is 5 new countries. I do have some exciting trips in the pipeline but I’m also going to America for 3 weeks to re-visit some of my favourite cities.
- Save Money towards buying a house
Although 2020 is a going to be a huge travel year for me, I’m also saving towards buying my own house. Last year, I opened a Lifetime ISA to help towards buying a house and fingers crossed, that by the end of the year we will be looking at houses! To be honest, I’m quite good at saving money but I’ll be making more of a concious effort to eat out less and hold back when it comes to shopping!
- Developing & Growing my Blog
My blog is one of the biggest aspects of my life. I can’t believe I’m going in to my tenth year of blogging and I’m looking to grow and develop my blog in 2020. This means I’m hoping to work on more collaborations and potentially have a re-design too! I’m always looking for ways to improve my blog and I’m going to really focus on that this year.
- Regularly Post on Instagram
Instagram is a funny one. We all have a love/hate relationshop with the app. I do love Instagram and sharing photos but there can be a pressure of having a certain asthetic. My goal for 2020 is to post a lot more on the app and not really care about it being the perfect photo. If I like the photo, that should be a good enough reason to share the photo.
- Give up Fizzy Drinks (or at least for now!)
Starting from today, I’ve officially given up fizzy drinks. I’m planning to carry this on until my holiday in March, so we’re talking about 10 weeks. I’ll fully admit that I’m addicted to drinking Coca Cola but every year I do give up fizzy drinks for lent. I thought I’d start now and see how we get on. I’m not sure whether I’ll carry on past my holiday but cutting back would also be a good thing too.
- Stop buying Beauty products
In 2020, I’m going to really cut out buying new beauty products. Although I do have a list for when I go to America, I’m really going to think about my purchases. My main reason is that my make-up collection is ridiculous and it’s getting to a point where I don’t have the space to store it all. I also don’t have enough days in the week to try all the products. I’m going stop senseless purchasing of new products and also concetrate on using up what I have already. I’m also going to do a monthly blogpost with my empties to share my thoughts on the products and show my progress on what I’m actually using and not just hoarding!
I’d love to hear what your 2020 goals are for the next year?

Your goals are brilliant. I actually wrote down a list of 300 things I would like to see come to pass this year. Insane I know but I like a challenge!
Fab goals – I’m interested to see where you will go this year! I am hoping to visit 12 new places in 2020 – one a month. Even if it’s just down the road from where I live! xx

Awww love this post! Can I come with you on the road trip to Scotland pretty please? haha! Also, I think we’re going to open a lifetime ISA as we really want to save and look at buying something in the next year or so 🙂
