Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland

Last weekend, I headed over to York’s Designer Outlet for the launch of their Winter Wonderland. Whilst I visit the Designer Outlet on a regular basis, I’ve never actually been to the Winter Wonderland before. I was aware that it was home to ‘The Ice Factor’ but there’s so much more to see. This year’s latest addition is the fully restored vintage funfair and of course, if you are there with little ones, you can meet Santa himself.yorkshires-winter-wonderland-york-designer-outlet-rachel-nicole-uk-blogger

To start of our day at the Designer Outlet, we had breakfast at Ed’s Easy Diner in the food hall before hitting up some of the shops. I may have made a sneaky purchase at the Cosmetics Store, Hello Bobbi Brown Mascara for £13! At 11am, Winter Wonderland was declared open with a procession through the mall with Santa, his elves and a few other characters. I may have got caught up in the parade which was a little embarrassing but it was all good fun!

Winter Wonderland is located outside with fairground rides, Santa’s Grotto and the largest Ice Rink in the North. Unfortunately, I wasn’t brave enough to go on the rink. It was probably a wise move for the safety of myself and those around me. To say, I’m a bad skater is an understatement. I would have spent the whole session clinging on to the side. I am, however, considering getting lessons and they actually have masterclasses here on a Saturday and Sunday mornings. We did check out some of the rides though which include a 1950’s Ghost Train, Dodgems and the 1937 Speedway.

If you’re in the area this weekend, don’t forget to take advantage of those Black Friday deals at the outlet with an extra 30% off handbags at Michael Kors, 20% off UGG Austrailia, 30% off Timberland and so much more! I’m a little gutted I’m not there this weekend too!

Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland is open until the 2nd January 2017 and you can book tickets for the Ice Rink & Santa’s Grotto here.

XOXO

* I was kindly given complimentary tickets to Winter Wonderland but all opinions are my own.

  1. I’ve been struggling to feel festive this weekend, the closer we get to December the less I’m looking forward to this time of year! So this post was a wonderful read to keep me excited! I’d love to travel round and see the Christmas Markets & Winter Wonderland’s around the UK – but I’m heading to the Birmingham Market next week and I’m hoping that gets me in the festive spirit!!

    Love your photos btw!
