I can’t believe how quickly Summer has flown by. It was my 25th Birthday last weekend on the 31st, marking the end of August. The BBQ’s, camping gear and outdoor furniture will soon be replaced with all things Halloween and Christmas. I’ve even seen Christmas Cards being sold already. With the arrival of Autumn coming up, I’m going to look at some home updates to make in time for my favourite season. Because who doesn’t love snuggling up by the fire in a warm cosy jumper about to re-watch Harry Potter for the 59th time. Yes, that’s my ideal Autumn night summed up. I’ve teamed up with Jack Stonehouse who are all about affordable yet top quality homeware to see what little home updates you can do to make your house ready for Autumn.
The first sign of Autumn, is when you got the pumpkin spiced latte candles burning in the front room. If you’re a candle lover like myself, there comes a point in early September where I stock up for the season and I’m ready for those lovely nights in. Obviously, you’ve got to be careful with candles as they are open flames so don’t go too overboard with lighting 100 different candles. I also love investing in diffusers as you can get some gorgeous scents, especially ones for the Autumn/Winter season.
You literally can’t have a cosy Autumnal evening in watching movies without lots of cosy blankets. I have too many to count but they are just so ideal for cosying up on the sofa with a good film and a hot chocolate. The fluffier the blanket the better as you can really snuggle up with them.
Home heating can be a very complicated matter but it can be made super simple if you’re wanting a little modern home heating system such as this Ceramic Tower fan and heater which comes with a remote control. I love that you won’t even have to move to turn it on and as it’s also a fan you can use it when it gets unbearably warm in Summer. It’s a great all-rounder product and perfect but just slightly warming up the room. I’m actually looking to buy one at the moment as mine is super old and absolutely knackered. This one sounds rather ideal for what I’m looking for.
Once you’ve got our candles, fluffy blankets, the only thing left to really make your living space unbelievably cosy and cute for Autumn is fairy lights. You can just imagine sitting in front of the TV with fairy lights around you, what a lovely Autumnal atmosphere that would be. I’m not going to lie, it would also look great in Instagram photos with your hot chocolate and marshmallows and the twinkly fairy lights. However, I would invest in good quality ones as cheap and nasty ones could cause electrical problems and might not even last that long.
Are you ready for Autumn yet? Do you invest in anything homeware wise to make your home have a cosy atmosphere for the colder months?
