Throughout the last couple of years, I’ve really started to appreciate how beautiful the UK is and that you don’t necessarily have to go abroad for an exciting adventure. I’ve enjoyed lovely road trips over to the Lake District, around North East 250 Route in Aberdeenshire and this weekend I went down to Bristol (it took five hours!). There will be more on that road trip very soon! I’ve teamed up with Leasecar.uk, who have put together a selection of The UK’s Best Drives as chosen by Travel Bloggers. There are some really great destinations to add to my travel list.
There are still so many places I’d love to tick off on my UK Travel Bucket list but I think the Lake District will always be one of my favourites. It’s about two and a half hours from where I live and it’s just a beautiful place to explore. There is so much to see and do, we even hired a boat on Lake Windemere. I’m glad that it has made the list! Hopefully, we will make it back this Summer to have a relaxed weekend and potentially do a little hike.
Can you believe I’ve never actually been down to Cornwall or Devon, it’s something I’d love to do and the Newquay to Devon drive sounds right up my street. It would probably take around 8 hours to drive down from Yorkshire but I have looked into flying from Leeds Bradford to Newquay and it’s totally feasible. We would then be able to lease a car whilst we are down there and explore the area. There are some great options for Ford Focus Leasing and it would be the perfect car to get us around the coastline.
Another trip, we are really interested in taking actually isn’t on the list. After exploring the North East 250 Route in Aberdeenshire, I’d love to see more of Scotland and do a big road trip up there. Stefan is really keen on visiting the little Islands and I wouldn’t mind trying to hunt down the Loch Ness monster. In all seriousness, a Road Trip around Scotland is really high on our agenda and hopefully, we will get to do it soon!
Have you been on any of the road trips around the UK? Where do you think the UK’s best drive is?
