Missoula Montana Bar & Grill, York
York is basically my second home and my favourite city. There are so many amazing places to eat, drink and visit in York and last week I was invited to try out Missoula Montana Bar & Grill‘s new summer menu. I actually hadn’t heard of this place but it’s apparently been open for just over two years. Missoula Montana Bar & Grill is right on the bank of the River Ouse on Bridge Street. It lookspretty tiny from the outside but it’s actually huge inside with plenty of outside seating so you can enjoy lovely views over the river. Missoula’s decor and the vibe was very much inspired by Montana heritage.
On this particular day, the weather in York was incredible. Everyone was sat by the river soaking up the sunshine and it was the perfect opportunity to take advantage of Missoula’s outdoor dining space. Although, if you are sitting outside be aware there’s some very friendly pigeons about! The lady who was serving talked us through the menu and was really helpful when it came to picking some cocktails to try. After much deliberation, I went for a Vodka based drink called the Passion Fruit Cooler. My Mum went for the Raspberry Caipirinha which is actually Brazil’s national cocktail.

The new Summer menu offers something for everyone with steaks, burgers, fish and chips and loads of different salads. If you’re looking for something lighter, there is also a selection of sandwiches and sharers. I opted for the Fried Buttermilk Chicken Burger which came with fries and my Mum went for the Sirloin Steak with twice-cooked skin-on chips. I also couldn’t resist ordering a side of onion rings. I enjoyed my meal but wish I had the skin-on chips as they tasted amazing, I stole a couple! There were no complaints coming from my Mum about the steak which she has been raving about since then.

Now, I never say no to desserts. Never. Especially when there is Strawberries and Chocolate on the cards. I couldn’t resist ordering the Strawberries and Marshmallow Skewers which came on a hanging contraption. The chocolate got poured on the top and dribbled down, it was a little bit too milky than I would’ve preferred but still yummy none the less. My Mum went for the Lemon Meringue Pie which was served with ice cream and was apparently very lovely. I wouldn’t know though as she wouldn’t share.

Overall, I really loved Missoula Montana. It was a complete hidden gem as I had no idea it was there. The service was top notch and our waitress went above and beyond for us. I will definitely be back in the future, even if it’s for cocktails as their menu was pretty extensive. Not only was the food really lovely, it looked like a great place to go for a couple of drinks after work. The beautiful weather to sit out by the river was just a total bonus.
Have you been to Missoula Montana Bar & Grill before?
XOXO

Hi! I’ve never been to Missoula Montana Bar and Grill before, but I have been to Missoula, Montana! I actually live in Montana and have dozens of friends who live in Missoula! It’s so funny to me that there’s a restaurant inspired by the town, but I’ll be moving to the UK in a few months, so if I get a chance to go to York, this will definitely be on the top of my list!

The decor looks really cosy but wow, the food looks amazing. I’m not a fan of desserts, actually with the exception to chocolate, I don’t like cakes or pastries but I would order the Strawberries and Marshmallows skewer too, that looks absolutely delicious despite the chocolate being too milky.
