The Wedding Diaries #1: It’s Booked!
If you’ve not heard, I recently got engaged on holiday in the Caribbean! I wrote all about our proposal in this blogpost which happened in June. The last couple of months have been absolutely hectic and as I’ve always used my blog as a journal, I thought I would also document my bridal era (which I’m now in at the same time as Miss Taylor Swift!!).
So without further ado… welcome to the first Wedding Diaries blogpost!

Excitingly I can confirm that I will be a 2026 bride! Since the engagement, we went to a few wedding fairs and venues to look around and get a feel for what we want. I’d already had a few ideas and we’ve decided to split it into two parts. Firstly, we are looking to elope abroad to legally get married, I’m sure you could guess where if you’ve followed our travels over the last couple of years. We haven’t booked this part nor have we really looked to book it as I think it could be quite straight forward.

This would be then followed by the UK Wedding which would be a blessing, followed by a festival style party. We actually have this booked and have just paid a deposit on a venue we are really happy with. The venue gives us the opportunity to be quite flexible and do some DIY bits which I’m really looking forward to. We’ve actually ended up booking our wedding on our nine year anniversary which was by complete coincidence. Worryingly, we didn’t even realised until afterwards!
The UK venue is really the only thing we have booked so far but I think wedding planning is going to ramp up a few gears in September. We have a shortlist of suppliers we want to look into and explore.

The other thing we have planned and is happening really soon is our engagement party. I’ll more than likely share more of the party when it’s happened but I’ve done a few DIY projects for this and it’s got me excited for all the opportunities we could do next year! It’s quite a small party but we’re hosting it at a friends house outdoors with pizza, garden games, chill vibes and hopefully good weather! I can’t wait to share all the details. I wasn’t too fussed about an engagement party but I’m glad we’re doing one as it gives us a good chance to celebrate with our loved ones.
I guess that’s all to report from the first installment of The Wedding Diaries but I guess booking a venue and setting a date is a pretty big deal. I’m hoping to go to a few wedding shows soon so I could document all of that too! Do let me know if you’d like to see anything in particular.
XOXO
