My 2024 Fitness Journey
One of my main goals for 2024 was to get moving, make exercise a regular part of my week and just feel fitter. 2024 is a big year for me. With a big birthday, some great trips, Glastonbury and just A LOT going on, I want to make sure I’m feeling better than ever within myself. I also just generally want to fit fit and healthy. I thought I would share an update after my first month of my new ‘fitness journey’.
I’ve not made any drastic goals but I feel like the following small steps have made a difference and I’m also planning to extend my goals each month. One of the first things I did in January was purchase some exercise equipment. As of now, I still don’t plan on joining a gym and will be working out from home and locally. Below are my goals for January, let’s see how I got on…

January Goals
- 10k steps a day or the equivalent at the end of the month (310,000) – Completed!
- Daily use of the Treadmill – Completed!
- No McDonalds or Takeaways – Completed!
- No Alcohol – Completed!
- No Fizzy Drinks – Completed!
- Using our new blender more often for healthy shakes & smoothies! – Completed!
The biggest goal for me was the 10k steps a day which did mean I used my brand new treadmill pretty much daily! I’ll be carrying this goal over to February. I’ve been walking a lot more and whilst a few times I did think my feet would drop off, I do feel more active. Our diets have slightly changed with more veggies, no takeaways or fast food and more healthy shakes and smoothies. We were gifted a new blender for Christmas so we have been making smoothies and health shakes a lot more. I’ve been using my new water bottle by Ion8 to take them to work. I’ve been feeling so much better drinking anything other than fizzy drinks too!

So far, I’ve not weighed myself to track progress as to be honest, it’s not about the figures. However, I’ve found that some tight fitting clothing isn’t as tight as it was before. So maybe progress has been made already! I’ll be keeping similar goals for February with a few exceptions as I’ve got a bottomless brunch booked in. Alongside aiming for 10k steps a day, I’ll be trying to do a home workout out 3 or 4 times a week. Stay tuned for more on my fitness journey, I’ll also be sharing on my Instagram more too!
