Staying at the Moxy at Heathrow Airport, London
If you’ve been following me on social media, you’ll have seen how I’ve just returned from the most amazing trip to California. We spent 17 days driving around California before heading to Las Vegas. As you can imagine, I’ve got so much content to share. I though it would be best to start at the beginning! We flew from Heathrow Airport with Virgin Atlantic and drove down the evening before and spent the night at the Moxy London Heathrow Airport Hotel located on Bath Road which was a short drive to the airport terminals.
This was my first experience staying at a Moxy Hotel and it certainly won’t be my last. It was gone midnight when we arrived at the hotel, however the lobby was still buzzing with people enjoying a few drinks as the bar was still open. There was also some games such pool and Foosball. The lobby was also home to mini mart shop which was open 24/7 with lots of different food and drink options and even some travel essentials.
The hotel had such a good vibe though with a full size mini cooper and a giant teddy bear in the drivers seat just parked in the lobby. Other decor elements gave it a cool warehouse vibe with decorative graffiti. However there was also a modern lounge area to chill and just hang out. I wish we’d been able to spend more time at the hotel but unfortunately our late arrival meant we could only have a quick night cap before bed.
I believe our room was the Moxy Sleeper Room. We were pleasantly greeted with a towel swan and red rose petals along with a personalised message on the mirror. I loved the personal touches from the hotel. I don’t think I’ve ever had a towel swan before so that did make my evening! The room had everything we needed for our fleeting visit with a Smart TV, walk-in shower, USB charging ports and tea/coffee making services. The plush queen beds provided us with an excellent nights sleep so we were prepared for our big day of travel!
The view from our room overlooked a part of Heathrow Airport and we could see some planes take off in the morning. It just shows how close we were to the actual airport yet we didn’t have any issues with noise. I found it quite exciting seeing them all take off!
Without a doubt the best part of the whole stay was their breakfast buffet which was served between 6am-10am. The breakfast buffet had everything you could have wanted including cooked and continental dishes. From Waffles to pink iced doughnuts – we were throughlly spoilt for choice. In addition, there was also that crispy streaky bacon which I’m obsessed with. We also got to have a bowl of cereal and of course, Stefan loved their fresh baguettes so he made his own breakfast sandwiches. Honestly, it was 10/10 for choice at breakfast. One of the best ones we have had in a long time.
I had spent a while debating on whether we should book ourselves into one of the airport lounges at Heathrow. However, we were so well fed at the breakfast buffet, we didn’t need anything at all in the airport until we were next fed on the plane. This was definitely a selling point for booking the Moxy again in future, especially the airport location as I wouldn’t need to worry about finding food in the terminal.
The Moxy Hotel did have a car park which I believe we paid £12 for overnight parking. This was super convenient for us as when we needed to depart for the airport, it literally was a 5 minute drive to Terminal 3. It meant we didn’t need to get up mega early before our flight and it was literally minutes away from where we needed to be! So convenient!
We were thoroughly pleased with our stay at the Moxy London Heathrow Airport Hotel. It was in a great location for getting to the airport in just minutes and the breakfast really saved us with faffing about in the airport finding something to eat.
XOXO
