Cartagena (Colombia) 

Cartagena is a major city on Colombia’s Caribbean coast. This makes it the ideal place to visit if you are taking a cruise on the Silversea Silver Cloud.   

Cartagena was founded by the Spanish in 1533 and was the center of politics and the economy during Spain’s domination of the region.

Salvador (Brazil) 

Salvador, or Salvador da Bahia as it is also known, was founded by the Portuguese in 1548. It has the honour of being one of the oldest colonial cities in South America and Brazil’s third largest city. Salvador was the first slave port in South America and you can still see traces of this African culture even to this day.  

If you love to party, then Salvador has something for you. This is a party town and hosts the world’s largest party, the annual carnival celebration.

Los Glaciares National Park (Argentina) 

Los Glaciares is the largest national park in Argentina and is known for its ecology and biodiversity.  

Los Glaciares is home to the largest ice cap outside of Greenland and Antarctica. The ice cap feeds 47 large glaciers including the Perito Moreno glacier. This glacier is unique as it is advancing while others are receding.  

You can also find Lake Argentino which is the largest lake in the country. This whole area is all about conservation so if you love nature and seeing how it’s being protected, then this location is for you.  

Pantanal (Brazil) 

This beautiful area of the world can be difficult to reach so you may need to travel by boat or plane. However, the journey is worth the time and effort involved.  

The Pantanal is the world’s largest tropical wetland and encompasses an area roughly the size of Washington State. It is also the perfect place to spot wildlife such as capybaras and jaguars. Although not as famous as the Amazon, it is still a beautiful place to visit and enjoy.
