Rating Pizza Slices in New York City
When in NYC, you’ve got to find the best pizza slice. On our trip in November, we made it our mission to hunt down the best slice. The good news is that we didn’t have a bad slice. You’ll find a pizza joint on every corner in New York, so which are the ones worth visiting? We managed to visit six different places on our trip which I know isn’t even close to a fair representation of finding the best in the city. However, it’s a great excuse to go back to visit another six, right? In this post, I’ll be ranking and rating the six we did visit.

6. 2Bros Pizza
2Bros Pizza wasn’t at all a bad place but it’s coming in at 6th place. 2Bros was ideally located at the end of the street from our hotel. So actually most evenings we didn’t pick up a slice from wherever we had been that evening. The best thing about 2Bros is that you can get a margarita slice for just $1. These days, $1 slices are hard to come by. They also have a variety of other toppings, I think pepperoni was $2. I’d say with the low price point, this still didn’t compromise the quality and it was a pretty decent slice.
This spot is a chain across NYC but I’ve put the address to the one we went to below.
2Bros Pizza, 542 9th Ave, New York, NY 10018

5. Luv Pizza
This is slightly a wildcard entry. We came across Luv Pizza whilst walking up 7th Avenue after a spot of shopping in Macy’s. I won’t like their ultra pink and neon signs drew my attention. I’d not heard anything about it thought why not try it. It honestly didn’t disappoint. Stefan was the only one who got a slice actually and after a snuck in a bite we ordered another one. I was honestly so impressed with how nice it was! Definitely just lucky
We actually worked out later that this joint is actually part of the Moxy Hotel. We visited their rooftop bar later in the holiday which was also ultra pink.
Luv Pizza, Moxy Hotel, 485 7th Ave, New York, NY 10018

4. Bleecker Street Pizza
Bleecker Street Pizza came highly highly recommended so it was actually the first pizza place we came across. Bleecker Street Pizza has actually won a best pizza in NYC award for three years in a row and is rated the 2nd best pizza place in NYC on Trip Advisor. I’ve got to say this was a great one to kick off our NYC Pizza Tour. Coming in at 4th place, I did really love the slices here but it didn’t stand out as much as the top 3.
I think Bleecker Street Pizza is worth visiting if you’re a big pizza lover like mine. It’s still a must visit for me whilst visiting NYC.
Bleecker Street Pizza, 69 7th Ave S, New York, NY 10014

3. Ignazio’s
Ignazio’s is right under the Brooklyn Bridge in DUMBO. We’d been in the Time Out Market watching the World Cup and even though we did eat a bit there, we still fancied a slice and this one was the closest. It seems like it was a proper sit down restaurant but they were just selling slices on the side and was more than happy to do some for us.
Stefan would actually rank this as his number 1. I do have to agree with his comments about this being the best tomato sauce on all the pizzas but it was lacking in cheese. I’ve got to say the highlight of this pizza eating experience is that we took it them onto the Brooklyn Bridge and ate them with the most incredible view. All of Manhattans lights were twinkling in the background as I’m snacking on a pretty great slice of New York pizza.
Ignazio’s, 4 Water St, Brooklyn, NY 11201

2. Prince Street Pizza
Prince Street Pizza is actually the only one I’ve been to before. Prince Street Pizza is located in the heart of Soho and is famous for their well loved Pepperoni Pizza. I picked up a slice of margarita and the famous Pepperoni and it’s was amazing. I mean you can see from the images just how tasty it looks. The only thing that lets the Pepperoni one down is how greasy it was. The Pepperoni has a kick to it too so Stefan wasn’t a huge fan. The first time I visited there was a pretty huge queue but still with it as it’s worth the visit.

1. Joe’s Pizza
Finally, my number one spot goes to Joe’s Pizza. To be honest, It’s probably the most recommended pizza joint in NYC. However, personally I think it lives up to the hype. We visited the joint on Carmine Street near Washington Square Park. There is a few others including one just south of Times Square. We passed this one a few times and it always had the longest line. I’d read that the Carmine Street one was slightly better quality but who knows. From the first bite, I knew it would be hard to top this slice. It had the right amount of everything and for me, it was my winner of the places we visited on the trip.
Joe’s Pizza, 7 Carmine St, New York, NY 10014
Stefan has a completely different order but i guess it’s just personally preference. Also, as I said there was no bad slices that we tried and I would literally re-visit all of them again. However, I would love to have a slice from Joe’s Pizza right now.
Have you ever had a slice in NYC?
XOXO
