Goals to consider for 2023
Setting goals at the start of a new year can be overwhelming, but it can also be a great way to motivate yourself to achieve something new. With an influx of posts about new years resolutions online, it can be hard to decide what to focus on and what will work best for you. If you are struggling, here are some goals suggestions to consider for the year ahead:

Save smarter
Saving money can be difficult, especially during the current cost of living crisis. However, savings goals don’t need to be restricted to saving a large pot of money. Setting the goal of saving smarter is a good one if you want to be more proactive in saving money.
Firstly, do some research into the different savings accounts on offer; there is plenty of information online and comparison sites available to help with this. Banks often offer incentives for switching to them, so make sure to look at where you can get the most benefit.
If you have a savings goal in mind for something specific such as buying your first home, it is also well worth researching what money-saving schemes are available. For example, help-to-buy schemes are often available for new homes.
Secondly, take a look at your current spending and determine where savings could be made, this is something most of us don’t do often enough. Don’t forget to cancel any subscriptions you are no longer using!

Reduce screentime
Many of us work at a screen every day which cannot be helped, however, there is often scope to reduce screen time in our personal lives. With apps like Tik Tok and Instagram, it can be easy to spend hours mindlessly scrolling. Whilst this is sometimes a good way to relax, too much screen time can cause sleep deprivation, eye strain, and a host of other physical and mental issues.
Therefore, aiming to reduce your screen time, even by a small amount, could be very beneficial. This can be done in a range of ways, from not using screens an hour before you go to sleep to having a screen free day once a fortnight. Try out different methods of reducing your screen time to see what you prefer and try to implement this regularly.
Doing this also provides the perfect opportunity to spend more time on your hobbies, or even pick up a new one.
Move intentionally
Lots of us are guilty of setting unrealistic fitness goals at the start of the year; not only are these often unachievable, but they also then lead to us feeling like we’ve failed which can then lead to doing even less exercise than before.
However, if improving your fitness is something you do want to do this year, setting the goal of moving intentionally could be perfect for you. This simply means moving your body more in an intentional way which could include anything from walking more to starting a new workout class.
This is nice as there is no pressure, just a desire to be more active which in turn means you are more likely to stick to it and enjoy it too.
