Six Months in Our First Home

I can’t quite believe how quickly the last six months have flown by. We have now officially been in our first home together for six whole months. Whilst we still have a few bits and pieces here and there to buy, we have done so much! If you’ve read our previous home posts, you’ll know that we have been super lucky that the house is in a great shape. The walls are all neutral, it’s got a brand new kitchen and overall, there’s no serious work that needs doing.

I really wanted to do a post to document our first six months. We survived it! I thought it would be an excellent time to an update. This week we have near enough completed our living room. We’ve gone with the colour scheme of Navy Blue, Black and Gold. I’ve found some great items from Habitat at Sainsbury’s and it’s where we actually got our new TV Unit and Sideboard. Most recently, I picked a big circle mirror which I’m waiting to be put up and the table lamp pictured above. That was a steal in M&S for £36!

The next thing on my todo list is to buy a new bed and we will also be getting the main bedroom re-carpeted. I’m hoping to order an ottoman bed. After all, I need all that extra space for my handbags and shoes! Although it’s not on my immediate todo list, the bathroom and garden are the two things that I’m hoping to have some work done in the next year or so.

The bathroom isn’t offensive by any means but I would love to put my own stamp on it. At the very least, we will certainly be getting a new shower. This is high on Stefan’s priority list as he loves a good waterfall shower. I’m not sure we can facilitate a waterfall shower but hopefully we can replace the one we have right now. The current one is not very powerful and it’s quite dated.

Finally, I’m going to be doing a few posts about the garden as I have big plans. Who knows if they will happen. I get the feeling I’ll have get a quote and be put off at the cost. Our garden is on a slope but I’m wanting to move our shed and extend the current decking. I absolutely love our garden as it’s so spacious so we do have the room to extend the decking and still have a pretty big space. We’ve spent so much time outdoors and I can’t wait to hopefully transform the space and make it even better!

Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram as I usually share some of my new home bits over on Instagram Stories.

XOXO
