Sunday Roast Diaries: BAHA, Bowness-on-Windermere

Sunday Roast Diaries: BAHA, Bowness-on-Windermere

At the beginning of the month, we had a lovely few days in the Lake District. Whilst there, we were staying in a lovely little cottage booked on Air B&B situated halfway between Bowness-on-Windermere and Windermere. Most of the time, we chose to go into Bowness-On-Windermere as there was a little bit more happening. The first day we had booked a place called BAHA for our Sunday Lunch. No matter where we are, I will always hunt one down! BAHA is located on Ash Street right in the heart of Bowness.

BAHA Bowness seems like quite the bustling bar offering food with Japanese, Korean and Pacific Rim influences. I was very interested to see what their traditional Sunday Roasts would be like. On arrival, we were taken upstairs and the decor was lush! As we found in quite a few places, it was mobile ordering meaning we had to scan the QR code to view the menu and eventually choose and pay for what we wanted. Our server did come over and say if we had any difficulties or want to order manually through her that was fine too. I don’t mind doing mobile ordering as you can have a proper browse, especially with drinks! I’m also convinced you get click happy and add way more to the basket this way!

We all went for their ‘Extraordinary Sunday Roast’ which is served every Sunday between 12 pm -5 pm! As there was four of us dining we got two of the Sunday Roast sharer platters which were £29.95 and we mix and matched them to include both the Chargrilled BBQ Beef and the Roast Pork Loin. Sunday Roasts can be bought individually for £15.95 so you do save a few pennies by doing the sharers.

The sharing platters are pretty huge and alongside the chosen meat comes with salt and pepper roasties, buttermilk mash potato and pacific rim style veg which included charcoaled cabbage, kale, carrots and broccoli. The sharer came with a giant Yorkshire Pudding but I was slightly disappointed as it wasn’t a homemade Yorkshire Pudding. However, the meal did come with unlimited gravy which is always a bonus. Along with the sharing platter, we also order the Pork Cracking, BBQ Pigs in Blankets with Chimichurri and Roasted Umami Stuffing Balls. I didn’t have any of the crackling but I’ve got to say the Stuffing Balls were out of this world.

As I said the sharing boards were pretty huge, especially alongside the sides but we were thoroughly stuffed after this meal. It wasn’t your typical Sunday Roast but I really enjoyed it everything tasted amazing. I’d love to re-visit another time and check out their regular menu where they’ve got all sorts from bao buns to charcoal burgers! It’s also worth noting that BAHA also have their own karaoke pods and a pacific cocktail bar!

XOXO
