Looking After Your Teeth - Oral B Toothbrush

Looking After Your Teeth

I certainly wouldn’t claim to be an expert when it comes to looking after my teeth but I do think it’s one of the most important things you can do. I know a lot of people have simple dental routines and that’s fair enough but I always do try my best to look after my teeth as much as possible. My late Grandma always said if you’re going to look after anything it’s your teeth, nails and hair. Also known as, brush your teeth, don’t bite your nails and try not to bleach your hair. Alongside wanting to look after my teeth, I do have a fear of dentists so it’s always best to have them in tip-top condition so I don’t get any problems. I thought I would share a few things which I do in my dental care routine which have certainly helped look after them.

Electric Toothbrush

One of the best ways to really make sure you are looking after your teeth would be to invest in an electric toothbrush. The difference between manual and electric is astonishing. My Mum got Stefan one for Christmas and he’s immediately seen a change! This Oral-B Vitality 100 toothbrush is a great one to start with as it’s super easy to use and charge (the charge lasts for a really long time!) and also it’s pretty affordable too. You need to replace the brush every couple of months but aside from that it’s just a great electric brush which really gives the teeth a good brush. Oral-B has a whole selection of electric toothbrushes and dental products which can really enhance the way you look after your teeth.

Watch What Your Drinking

Thankfully, I don’t actually drink coffee or tea so I don’t suffer from too much staining on my teeth. However, orange juice can be a huge factor to staining your teeth too and it’s best to be careful with how much fizzy soft drinks you consume as it can increase the risk of tooth decay. I’ve tried my best to completely cut out fizzy drinks but at the moment, I’ve just cut back. I’ll probably give them up again for lent and see how we go.

Flossing

A lot of people usually skip the flossing stage but it’s still a really important step in the dental routine. It can remove whatever is in between your teeth and also look after your gums. There are actually some really great electric water flossers on the market which I’m going to look into investing in. The Philips Sonicare range looks really good.

I’d fully encourage everyone to really just look after your teeth, especially if you are younger. This way you can avoid any problems later down the line. As I said, I’m in no ways a dental expert but I just wanted to share what I do based on what I’ve been told from my dentist.

Do you have any top tips for looking after your teeth?

XOXO

  1. I think I need a water flosser as I’m bad at skipping that stage! I’m an electric toothbrush convert and I don’t think I can go back to a normal one now though. The real question is, what whitening strips do I need?!
