How To Pass The Time Whilst You’re Staying at Home
Being in isolation isn’t much fun. Unfortunately, it’s a requirement right now whilst we are in lockdown 3.0 unless you are a key worker. Lockdown 3.0 seems to be hitting harder than the others but I’ve put together a few things you can do to pass the time at home. There’s plenty of exciting things you can do to make the time fly by and kick the boredom whilst staying at home.

Do A Jigsaw Puzzle
If you’re someone that hates puzzles, this activity probably won’t win you over. However, if you’re a fan of them, or you’re willing to give one a try, now would be the perfect time to pull one out. I loved doing my Disney Jigsaws in the first lockdown and I’ve just got them out again! It’s amazing how much time you can spend sifting through the box in search of pieces that go together. You might think you’ve only been at it for an hour, but in reality, you’re actually several hours down.
Puzzles are also an excellent activity for the mind, helping your brain in all these areas. By combining one with some soothing music and calming scents, it can even help you to relax if self-isolating is stressing you out.

Experiment With Cocktails
Now is as good a time as any to hang out in the kitchen, especially if you have a cocktail making set. After all, you’ve got nowhere to go, so it doesn’t really matter whether you spend your quarantine sober or not.
Of course, your cocktails don’t have to contain alcohol. You can very easily hone your mocktail skills instead. Either way, though, this is an excellent opportunity to experiment with some new drinks and perfect your abilities behind the bar. That way, when you can finally socialise properly again, you’ll be able to share your recipes with all your friends.

Solve A Mystery
Why not use this period of isolation to put your mental skills to the test? There are plenty of great mysteries you can solve from the comfort of your home, including ones delivered to your door by Mysterious Mail.
Across several different letters, you’ll receive details of a dark mystery that you’ll need to think long and hard about to solve. As you slowly start to piece this personalised puzzle together, you’ll find yourself getting lost in the story of what really happened. The fact that everything is mailed to your door only adds to the impressiveness of this activity. Anyone who’s a fan of whodunnit mysteries is bound to love this.
Try Something Artistic
Whether you’re an artistic person or not, now might be a good time to try your hand at something creative. You could draw or paint a picture, do some knitting, bake a few desserts – the possibilities are seemingly endless.
If you don’t wish to create something from scratch, you could go down a simpler route and colour pictures in instead. Adult colouring books are easy to come by, and they’re supposed to be good for your mental wellbeing. You can easily spend an afternoon getting creative with your colours. If you really enjoy the activity, maybe you’ll finish the book by the time your isolation is over.
People aren’t used to having so much free time at home, so this pandemic has definitely forced us to find new ways to stay entertained. Hopefully, if you’re stuck isolating, some of these activities will keep you from losing your mind with boredom.
What have you been doing to keep the boredom at bay whilst staying at home?
XOXO
