My Hair Removal Experience with Sensica Sensilight
Today I’ve got quite an exciting post and something I’ve been working on a while. A couple of months ago, I started a collaboration with Sensica which their products are available from Boots. They kindly gifted me a Sensica Sensilight RPL device which reduces hair growth permanently. This is something which I have wanted to try for the longest time as hair removal can really become quite a chore. I like to keep on top of hair removal as it makes me feel so confident having smooth and hair-free legs. So I’m hoping a device like this will make thing so much easier. I’ve been using this product for just over 10 weeks using the product fortnightly so I thought I would share how my experience was.

The Sensica Sensilight 300,000 flashes device uses RFL technology (Reactive Pulsed Light) to permanently reduce hair growth with spa-grade results. From what I can gather, the device works best on those with dark hair and a pale complexion, so I would hope that I am the perfect candidate. Upon starting with the device, it noted that you would notice results between 6-8 weeks with treatments been two weeks apart. The Sensica Hair Removal device can also be used on most areas of the body including the bikini line and underarm. Additionally, the device can be used on the face but that’s not something I have tried. To prepare before treatments, you need to remove all hair and make sure the skin isn’t wet or irritated. I thought I’d write this post diary style to document how I got on each fortnight.

Week One
My first treatment was a few days after my patch test. I’ve got to say the flashes are a little startling and you need to be really careful not to look directly into the light otherwise it could really damage your sight. Once you got into the swing of things, it was super easy to use and you could do both legs within around 10 minutes. I’m also doing my underarms too which I’m really hoping shows strong results. The device has two different energy levels, as it was my first go, I did have it on the lower setting and plan to increase as we go further into the weeks.
Other things to note was that it was slightly burning in certain areas which I had read was normal. It wasn’t through the whole treatment just in certain areas. I’m also not too sure how consistent I was with going up and down the legs so who knows, it might be patchy in the end?!
Week Two
In my second treatment, I definitely got more confident in what I was doing with the device. Again, I’m not too sure how consistent I was in certain areas but I didn’t want to go over areas twice as that can be damaging.
Week Three
Going into week three, I was a little disappointed that I’d seen not really any results. I had to remind myself that I had only done two sessions and quite a long way to go in the process. I feel with each session, I’m getting better at reaching all areas and just been more consistent. I’m writing this 2 days after my third session and although hair has grown back on my underarms, it does look more sparse – so hopefully that’s a good sign!
Week Four
Going into the fourth treatment, I’m starting to notice steady progress on my legs. Looking after this treatment, the re-growth on my legs is becoming a lot patchier, especially on my shins. Sadly, I’ve not really seen much more results with my underarms. The hairs are still regrowing with full force but just more sparse. I’m going to keep going and be persistent with the journey. I’m feeling pretty optimistic that if you do stick it out with these treatments that eventually you will see some serious changes.

Week Six
This week I’ve seen the most difference. The lower half of my legs are pretty smooth with minimal hair growth since shaving a week ago. In some areas, it’s completely halted growth which is great! With my armpits, the growth is still there, I’d say it has slowed down slightly and looks patchier. There isn’t a huge difference but I’m going to persevere as I would love for it to work better on my armpits.
I’m really happy with the results I have been seeing so far. It’s taking 15 minutes of my time every other week and hopefully, these results will be permeant. Obviously, I was quite sceptical about these sort of products but seeing the halt in my leg hair growth has really impressed me. I’m still going to continue with the fortnightly treatments for now but they do advise going to maintenance treatments every month once you’re happy with results. I did a post about using this product on social media and got asked so many questions so hopefully this post has helped. If not, feel free to drop me a comment or DM me on social media. Additionally, if you’re interested in trying the Sensica Sensilight device then head over to my Instagram to be in with a chance of winning one!
How do you feel about hair removal? Would you use a device to permanently remove hair? or do you prefer other methods?
XOXO
This post is in conjunction with Boots UK but all thoughts are my own

I’m desperate to try one of these as I’m so lazy when it comes to shaving my legs – it would be the dream to just not need to bother.
I have seen these type of hair removal gadgets and I have never had the confidence to buy one. It’s good to read a tried and tested review to instill confidence.
Every winter I visit a salon every 4 weeks for a leg and underarm wax in the Hope by the time we get to weather where I don’t need tights that my leg hair is much less noticeable- it doesn’t work lol, but I live in hope!! Maybe It’s time to give something else a go!
Agreed with above, shaving is such a chore! Will would definitely be something I’d benefit from and sounds pretty simple.

I’ve got a laser hair removal tool but I’ve still not used it yet, it’s so good to hear you’re having good results. I should dig mine out and give it a go x
15 minutes every other week is totally doable and if you keep with it and the growth stops then it will be a total winner, Thanks for introducing me to the Sensica. Mich x
I really love the honesty of this review – and I’m intrigued to try the Sensica Sensilight on my legs! (Especially with the sunshine we’re been having!)
It is a shame that it takes so long to start to work, but glad it is reducing the regrowth. Is this permanent, or will the hair come back if you stop using it?
I have done this at a specialised salon and it does take a while until it begins to work. I used to have my appointments every 2 weeks or so. It does work, but only for a few years, then the hair starts growing back again unfortunately.
This sounds good. Reducing hair growth sounds like a decent start – having to de-fuzz is such a boring chore so anything that saves time is appealing!
I have had hair removal several years back but never kept up with it. I think it’s something i should go back to as it was so much better then shaving every other day!
I would definitely love a device like this! I am glad you are happy with the results and 15 minutes every other week is extremely manageable.
A great honest review, my daughter would find this interesting and shes very into beauty treatments etc…so I’ve forwarded the site onto her.
I always shave but my hair grows back so fast I needs doing again 2 days later. I loved reading your diary because it’s so honest. I’m so impatient but I would definitely be willing to wait to see results over the weeks as I think it would massively help my confidence.
