  1. If possible always use natural light when photographing your pet. Avoid flash if you can, as a flash burst can cause red-eye or also frighten you pet! Instead try to go outside or, if it is not possible, in a room well lit by a large window.

  4. I try to take my time…when I first started photography as a hobbie I was snapping all the time and most of them ended up rubbish! also to try to go for the less obvious view or angle

  5. try to use natural light if you can over artificial, everything tends to look nicer 🙂

  8. always take a few shots it is surprising how different they can turn out – or that might just be me.

  9. When photographing children, try capturing them on their eye level. That way it all looks more natural, and real. And don't worry, if things don't go your way – sometimes that unexpected rain is to the best:)

  10. Have a look at your camera settings, use settings such as no red eye or night time vision depending on your setting.

  11. I find that pictures outdoors always look better, and the best photos I get of the kids are when they are just playing and get a natural shot!

  13. i always take 2 shots, just incase the first wasnt very good. i hate getting home from an event and flicking through my pics, when the best 'position' shots are a bit blurry

  14. Try and take pictures during the day in the light, as I have found all too often that its when you take the best pictures x

  15. experiment with diffenet types of light/angles during the day it is surprising how a slight movement in any direction can make

  16. Always carry a cuddly toy when taking pictures of toddlers! They can easily be distracted.

  17. The best shots are candid, so don't force people to pose (especially children) just capture peoples natural joy.

  18. Frame the picture well. Take multiple photos with the main focal point in different positions then you can review later on and see which one works best

  19. Use the burst function on your iphone for action shots – just hold down the red button and it will take a set of photos, you can just choose the best!

  20. Re-take the photo a few times and then when you get home you can find the best one. I have took photo's before and thought 'I wish I had just moved a bit', or 'So and So wasn't actually looking' 🙁

  21. some fab tips ive noticed already but id go with natural light also when photographing kids for portraits toys are always are godsend x

  22. with the likes od digital cameras, these days you can take loads of photos and pick the best ones later on. so my tip is, to just be snap happy.

  27. If taking a picture of a person try also to make sure there is nothing in the background which could ruin the picture such as a line of washing or a dustbin for example.

  28. I try to naturally frame my shots so, will take photos through gaps in walls, bridges etc or take a scenic shot, flanked by trees either side.

  29. learn how to use your camera like you'd learn how to drive a car. No need to take it apart but you must know every feature like the back of your hand.

  30. Try to take photos of something you find beautiful, it will translate into the picture x
