The BBC Good Food Winter Show 2014

A couple of weeks ago The BBC Good Food Winter Show 2014 came to The NEC, Birmingham. I popped along to see what was going on.  There was lot’s of food demonstrations, brands selling kitchen accessories, food and drink to taste, book signings and the super theatre. The Super Theater was a little ticketed show with different high profile chefs, we were lucky to go to two great shows with James Martin and then with Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood.
First up was James Martin, who made a three-course meal;

– Crab Salad with mackerel and homemade mayo

– Crown of Lamb with Stuffing

– Cinnamon Monkey Bread with maple syrup served with Snickers Ice Cream
The theatre smelt incredible when he did the lamb and the monkey bread looked delicious but apparently had like 12,000 calories! James was really funny and looked way better than on the TV!

The second show with Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood was in the afternoon. After Mary’s persuasion the audience chose to see Paul’s lamb pie to be prepared. The pair of them together were incredibly funny, Mary is so cute! They also prepared two desserts each Paul’s Pistachio Biscuits and Mary’s Lemon Parfait.

I did also manage to get a sort of selfie with Mary whilst she walked past me. I couldn’t resist even though it’s really not the best. I’ll include some other photo’s I took from all the different stalls around the show. I was really impressed with the Smeg stand, they were making pizza! It’s also my life ambition to own the full Smeg collection in pretty pastel colours so i did go overboard taking photo’s!

 It was such a fun day out, I really enjoyed myself. There are a few other BBC Good Food events on around the country round the year. I’ll definitely be going back for the Summer show!

Have you ever been?

XOXO
