London Fashion Week SS15: Day One

September 18, 2014
Here’s my round-up of Day One at London Fashion Week. Be warned this could be a long post! I’m going to use a mix of my photo’s and professional – As I know that blurry ghost like photo’s aren’t the best! Over Fashion Week, I was staying with my good friend Liv – Who’s a freelance MUA and you should check out her work here!

The day started at Bora Aksu which was at BFC Somerset House Courtyard space. I was insanely excited to be invited and I even got stickers. The collection was amazing, very fresh feeling with lot’s of white on white and adorable ruffles. The stand out piece was definitely the long bright purple gown with a veil. The finale was so fierce with the models stomping down the catwalk. Here’s my favourite looks from the collection and the finale.

On to the Faustine Steinmetz Presentation which I didn’t personally go to as it clashed with Bora Aksu but I gave my ticket to Liv. When I saw the pictures, I was slightly jealous as the collection looked insane. Faustine is part of Topshop’s NewGen designers so defiantly one to watch – She used recycled denim and re-felted it. She’s brought out a whole new side to denim!

Jamie Wei Huang was next on the agenda and after seeing her collection last season, I was really keen for what she had in store for SS15! This season saw lot’s of leather accents with buckles and straps and the odd bit of fur. I loved the bomber jackets and gathered leather crop tops. Jamie’s also another designer who is one to watch out for!

The John-Pierre Braganza show was a monochrome dream, lot’s of gorgeous tailoring, prints and asymmetrical shapes. The collection based on a architectural structures just had the most amazing shapes.

I then hot footed it across to Mayfair to the Amanda Wakeley presentation which I believe was in her showroom. I was completely obsessed with this collection, gorgeous white on white designs floated through the rooms and the models even posed on the beautiful staircase. Very feminine looks with amazing textures and a touch of the seventies with over sized blazers and draped dresses. This was just a gorgeous collection and I just loved how fresh and clean it was.

Back to Freemasons Hall for the Hema Kaul and Ashley Isham Fashion Scout shows. The Hema Kaul show was the epitome of pretty, gorgeous pastels with embellished flowers. The models all had big hair and just everything about the show was girly and adorable. The first thing about the Ashley Isham show was that I LOVED the invite, It was a golden ticket which made me feel like Charlie Bucket! The show was very luxurious and glamorous with long frocks made from gorgeous fabrics.

My last stop on the first day was to the Fast and Fashionable Party at The Press Club. Outside was a big Formula 1 car, I’m not entirely show how the cars tied in with the night but inside was lot’s of gorgeous clothing and accessories to fawn over whilst sipping on champagne! We didn’t stay too long as we was about to drop. LFW is actually hard work!

I always forget I like fashion and then I see posts like these! They make me want to make an effort to get to these events and take pictures. Some of these collections look like they'd be an absolute blast to photograph. x
