A little Make-up Haul & Review.

June 19, 2012

I did mention some of these products in past posts but I thought I would go in to more detail and show you some swatches. I seem to just want to buy new lipsticks all the time and I’ve got three new ones in the past couple of weeks. I have also acquired two face powders in the past week.

Revlon lipstick – 440 Cherries In The Snow // Collection 2000 Volume Sensation – 5 Pretty Please // No7 Stay Perfect Lipstick – 72 Tangerine Touch // Bourjois Mattifying Compact Powder – 73 Miel dore // No7 Creme touch Face Powder – 11 Candlelight.

The Bourjois Mattifying Compact Powder was bought from a discount make-up shop in York called Zest which sells discontinued make-up for really great prices. I quickly bought this one for £2.99 after swatching it on my hand but it’s a bit darker for my skin so I’ll probably use it for when I have more of a tan on my face. The powder has great coverage and a soft texture and comes in a cute compact with a really good acrylic mirror. This would be a perfect powder if it was the right shade!

The No7 cream touch powder was bought from Boots and I think it was £9.00 and I bought it with one of those No7 £5 vouchers, which I’m gutted the expired on Sunday because I needed some make-up remover and nail polish! This powder is more my shade and it’s got a very light texture and it just feels really light on the skin. It doesn’t make the skin dry which is such a good factor because I just seem to have products that dry my face up. I think this is a great product and I will be using it on a daily basis from now on.

Revlon – Cherries in the snow // Collection 2000 – Pretty Please // No7 – Tangerine Twist
No7 Stay Perfect Lipstick – Shade 72 Tangerine Touch.

This is my favourite lipstick at the moment, it was £10.00 from Boots and I also used a £5 No7 voucher. It’s such a gorgeous shade, I went in looking for a coral/orange shade and there was a darker one but I preferred this! I have really dry lips and this is really good because it’s moisturising and it also lasts such a long time. I only apply it maybe twice a day and it’ll still be on when I go to remove my make-up at night. I definitely want to buy more No7 lipsticks.

Revlon Super Lustrous Creme Lipstick – Shade 440 Cherries In the Snow.

I bought this lipstick from Boyses (a little department store in Yorkshire), It was only £1.39 and I thought it would have been a discontinued shade but I found it in my Boots for £7.49! This is also a really moisturising lipstick but it’s a bit bright for me wearing every day. This reminds me of the 002 Kate Moss for Rimmel lipstick but a bit darker but it feels really similar. This is as long-lasting as the No7 one and I have the re-apply a lot, but overall it’s a really great product.

Collection 2000 Volume Sensation – Shade 5 Pretty Please

I bought this lipstick on a bit of a whim, it was only £2.99 from Boots. I got this before my No7 one so I was still on the hunt for a really good coral lipstick. This lipstick looked really nice when I swatched it but I should have maybe paid more attention to the fact that it’s a lip plumper which I’m not keen on. On the lips, it is a lot more shimmery than I thought it would be and it doesn’t really help my dry lips. I do like the coral tone to the shade but overall I don’t like this lipstick.
