Festive Gift Guide: For Dogs
It’s the penultimate Festive Gift Guide for the 2024 series. Today we’ve got a Festive Gift Guide for the pup in your life. I’m sure most of you know that we have a little Dachshund called Walter and to be honest, he is our whole world. Of course, we love to spoil him rotten at Christmas and there is endless festive themed gifts you can pick up for your furry friend. I’ve also picked out a few gifts which would also be perfect for dog owners too.

I think one of my favourite things on the Festive Gift Guide is from Doodlebone. They have some amazing rainbow light up leads which are great for the winter where we have dark nights. Dog walks can be so much brighter on an evening with the light up leads. The leads are also water resistant and come in both black and red. The leads are rechargeable via a USB point. I am thoroughly obsessed with these leads!
Also from Doodlebone is their Puffer jackets. One of the reasons which these jackets have jumped out to me is that they have poppers as the fastening making it pretty easy to get on. The puffer jacket comes in a range of colours and are reflective, machine washable and come with a harness hole which is always a great addition!
I’m a big Disney fan so when Pawsome Paws Boutique released their festive Disney collection, I knew that Walter needed to have the lot. The Santa’s Mickey Mail collection is so cute! We picked up their Tough Trails Harness, Bow Tie and Collar. Pawsome Paws stuff are always such good quality and I just love that there is so much Disney stuff. I also picked up a few bits from the Winnie the Pooh Gingerbread Bear collection which is also mega cute! If you’ve got girl pups, there is also a Minnie Mouse and Bambi collection which is so adorable. You can get 10% off Pawsome Paws Boutique here.
This next gift is more for the owner but Wisdom Panel is a DNA Collection Kit. I’m going to be doing a full blogpost on this once I’ve got Walter’s results. Wisdom Panel will get as close as possible to understanding everything about your pet. From their genetic health to learning more about their breed’s traits, the Wisdom Panel DNA Kit will provide the world’s most comprehensive results. I’m so intrugued to see what the results will say, so stay tuned to find out more with us!
If dogs could talk, I’m sure most of them would ask for Filet Mignon Steak… Nylabone have released an extreme chew in the shape of a lobster with the flavour of a Filet Mignon Steak. This looks like a very durable chew which is perfect for those with dogs like mine. Walter sure does like to chew up his toys and getting durable chews is high on my priority list. I think this would make a perfect gift for Walter and most pooches this Christmas.

I don’t know about you, but I spend most of my life with Walter in Pets at Home. We picked up a few things last week which would also make excellent gifts. The Pets at Home Surprise Cracker means your pup won’t be left out on Christmas Day when everyone is pulling their crackers at the dinner table. The Surprise cracker includes a collar charm, rope toy and some treats!
There’s also some really cute festive accessories where you can get your dog into the Christmas spirit. I know not all dogs will want to dress up, so even just a little bow tie can be festive. However, I love the Naughty or Nice beanie hat and Sparkly Santa’s hat. I’m not sure how long they will last with Walter but hopefully the beanie will keep his ears warm!
Also at Pets at Home is their newly launched Harry Potter collection. There is some excellent items in the collection including house jumpers and harnesses and some pretty cool toys. As I said before, Walter does chew toys pretty easily so I think the Broomstick is the only one that stands a chance with him. I can’t believe Walter has his own Nimbus 2000!
Treatricks is another brand which you can find at Pets at Home. These have faired quite well with Walter in the past and kept him very stimulated. The Dinosaur dental spikes are refillable and Walter has spent a while going at them. These toys apparently help brain function and keeps them occupied.
For any other Dachshund owners, get yourself to M&S. There is some amazing items in their Christmas collection including the most adorable felt Christmas tree decoration. You will also find Walter the Sausage Dog in the food hall too – in the form of some chocolate treats. I love that M&S have got their own Walter Sausage Dog too!
I also have to mention the lovely little dog coats that M&S do. They are pretty inexpensive at £8 and we’ve gotten on so well with them in the past. To put over harnesses, they fasten with velcro. The new tartan design matches their Christmas PJ’s. Last year, we actually all had matching which was too cute!
Finally, I wanted to mention this on final gift which is obviously for pet owners. I placed an order with Max Speilmann for their round photo slate coaster and added a photo of Walter. I’m so pleased at how this has come out, it’s so adorable! I’m tempted to buy one for everyone just as it’s such good quality and who doesn’t want a little photo of Walter on their coffee table.
We’re nearly there with the Festive Gift Guides. Just one more to go and if you’re a fan of Taylor Swift or know any Swifties – this one will be ideal for you!
XOXO
