Travel: Stonegate & The Shambles, York

I always love visiting York, It’s such a beautiful city and I’ve recently collaborated with Travelodge to #FlauntYaHaunt and share my favourite places in the city. York is full of history and I particularly love the quaint old cobbled streets which make the city stand out from others. I could spend hours wandering down Stonegate and The Shambles whilst browsing in the small shops.

Stonegate is the home to popular high street stores such as The White Company, Jo Malone, Jack Wills and Cath Kidston, (Oliver Bonas is opening soon – YAY!) but there is also many antique shops and independent stores. If you’re looking for food & drink, there is a small Betty’s Tea Room which is a must visit when you’re in York – The Stonegate café is a lot quieter than the larger café. Evil Eye is a great bar tucked away serving amazing cocktails and Asian food.

You can’t visit York without seeing The Shambles, the cutest old street – It looks like Diagon Alley! I personally prefer the shops on Stonegate but it’s worth seeing the original timber-framed buildings which you wouldn’t find anywhere else. It’s the old little streets full of history, that make me love York and make the city so unique!

If you’re interested in visiting York, There are several Travelodges in the city centre. You can find out more here. Have you ever visited York? Do you want to visit York?

XOXO
