Travel: Heathrow Terminal 2 Retail Preview

May 16, 2014
A couple of weeks ago, I was invited to preview what the brand new Terminal 2 at Heathrow airport will be offering. The event was held at one Marylebone which is a gorgeous venue (Tom from McFly got married there!). Terminal 2 also knows as The Queen’s Terminal, has been closed since 2009 but will re-open the 4th of June this year.

I’ve never actually been to Heathrow as i tend to fly out of Manchester. After seeing what is going to be there, I want to pay a visit! At the event we got to see everything from the new stores, pubs, restaurants, duty free and the brand new plaza premium lounge.

To start off we were treated with some lovely scones from The Gorgeous Kitchen – A restaurant ran by four ladies. The menu is all freshly made with British produce and will include an express Afternoon Tea before your flight!

The Caviar House and Prunier was showcasing what they will have on offer. Their stand was pretty insane with a big ice sculpture. I don’t have any photo’s but The Plaza Premium Lounge was also at the event. The premium lounge is an independent business and  open to all flyers, so you don’t have to be flying first class. Prices are from £38 – which is really reasonable as it includes food, drink, Wifi and access to a shower.

World Duty Free is my favourite place in an airport, I’m already thinking about what I’m going to buy there when I go on holiday. Duty Free World was serving up some yummy cocktails, YSL manicures and Jo Malone hand massages. I had a lovely hand massage featuring a few products which haven’t been released yet! (Bit of an exclusive but I can’t remember the name of the products – oops!)

Trying on some lovely Prada sunnies at the Sunglass Hut! They will be stocking exclusive designs at duty free prices! I did fall for some gorgeous glitter Miu Miu shades! They also let me try out their new app which lets you try on the shades virtually on a tablet and also take some cheeky selfies!

One of my favourite stores Cath Kidston will be opening in Terminal 2. They will be selling lot’s of their lovely luggage, British souvenirs for tourists in the terminal with their Beefeater prints and they will also be selling bikini’s and swimming costumes which will be a first for them!

Thomas Pink was showing off their GIANT screen which you’re able to customize shirts and order them on here. As well as check to see weather there will be a store where you are heading and also catch up with their social media.

A British favourite, John Lewis is a new addition to the terminal and they actually have a huge store opening which will be offering a bit of everything. There will be lot’s of souvenirs and gifts for those last minute purchases and also their new range of products with their very own prints on them.

I had a fab time seeing what’s going to be on offer at the terminal and it made me want to book a flight out of there soon – Just to see these all in person! Let me know if any of you will be flying out of the brand new terminal!

  2. I got delayed for 11 hours in Terminal 5 at Heathrow in February, was awful! The most painful part was staring at the Kurt Geiger store and knowing they were cheaper than usual and I had no money 🙁

I wish I could fly from Heathrow on a regular basis. I always fly from Edinburgh so I'm beyond limited on shops and restaurants. It looks like Terminal 2 is going to have an amazing set up.
