London Fashion Week AW14 – Day Two
Day Two was an early one for me. 6 am wake-up call, the train I was booked on was still all cancelled so i eventually got into London at 10 am. I then met up with Abi from A Floral Crown and we made our way to The Marylebone Hotel where Glamour Magazine and Aspinal of London were having their LFW Breakfast event. The event was to show off the new Aspinal SS14 Collection, which was beautiful. I may have fallen in love with a certain couple of bags. There was a talk with the fashion and beauty executive at Glamour Magazine Claudia Mahoney and Angela Scanlon about their thoughts on Street Style and Fashion Week. They were also joined by the lovely Ella Catliff from Le Petite Anglaise who weighed in on the subject. It was a lovely little event to start the day!
After Glamour Me and Abi scooted on over to Somerset House but there wasn’t too much going on as it had started to rain again! I went over to the Charing Cross Hotel for the Serap Pollard Show, such a lovely venue and we were greeted by live music. It was a lovely show with vibrant patterns and colours which defiantly showed off the designers Turkish roots. There was a few stand-out pieces in the collection such as the sexy blazers and the ball gown which came out at the finale.
After Serap Pollard, I headed further along The Strand to The Savoy. I’ve been there once before, but it’s such a beautiful place and i may have got lost once or twice and walked into a Bafta Dinner.. Ooops. I may have had a little tour round but i was actually there for The Wolf and Badger Showcase which was held downstairs and lot’s of little designers were showing off their collections. It was a lovely affair with so much to see. I came across a luxury leather handbag brand called Maria Lamanna and fell in love with some of the pieces.
The next stop of the day was back to Fashion Scout at Freemason’s Hall, This time it was for the Belle Sauvage Show. It was a bit of a brawl to get in and seated but i finally did. I’m going to be doing a separate post on this show in the future otherwise we will be here all day. It was a great show though with strong inspiration.
I had originally planned to attend a few more shows that evening but i was completely flat out and decided to call it a day and head home. I’ll be putting up a post about the Belle Sauvage show shortly, so keep your eyes peeled!
