One Year At Uni!
This is a different post to the norm as I’ve just finished my first year at University and I wanted to share some photo’s, my thoughts and things about my experience. The course I am studying is Fashion Retail Management at BCU. The whole year has flown by so much! At first, i really didn’t want to leave home, I had only been 18 for a week before leaving and I just didn’t feel ready.
In the past year, I did get homesick but it was a lot easier than I ever imagined. During freshers, there were lots of events to meet new people and soon enough i started my course. The course I’m doing is pretty wide-span from Events, Visual Merchandising, Buying, Styling & Marketing. I’m enjoying the course except i wish we were in Uni more! (shock horror – wanting to do more work). A lot of the work is independent studies which I can get on with quite quickly. It’s really important to make sure the course your doing is exactly right for you.
Living in the city is something I really wanted when looking for a Uni. When choosing where to go it’s not all about the course. Location and Money were the main factors for me. I wanted to live in a city but I couldn’t afford to be in London. Been in Birmingham has opened a lot of doors for me, including been invited to events and meeting other amazing bloggers! I love how it’s only a short train journey to London so I’ve been taking advantage of that too!
My accommodation was in the city centre and super close to the campus and I’ve even decided to live there another year in a bigger apartment with my boyfriend! I didn’t end up having a job in my first year which is something I wish I had sorted out as soon as I moved to Birmingham. I am defiantly applying EVERYWHERE in September as the extra experience will be great for me and not to mention the extra cash! Obviously been a student I didn’t have a super amount of money but my family helped out which i was really lucky with! This meant I got the opportunity to go on the Paris trip with my University which was by far the highlight of my year!
Other highlights include; Graduate Fashion Week, Made In Chelsea Parties, BEYONCE, My Visual Merchandising internship, The Christmas Market, Birmingham Fashion Week, Lana Del Rey, Having Nandos and Primark down the road & Producing work I’m proud of!

I really wish I was going to uni. It looks amazing!
