My Final Collection!

This is just a quick post that i’ve been meaning to do all week, some of you might know that i’m a fashion student and tommorow we’re having the big fashion show and this is my collection that will be in the show. These photo’s aren’t the best, just a quick few on some mannequins before i handed them in. I will hopefully get some better photos on the catwalk tommorow! This collection was originally inspired from Art Nouveau and Natural forms and from that i got the idea of swans and feathers, the whole Black Swan film was a heavy influence right from the start. I always wanted black and white as the colour concept and these are the outfits i ended up with after a long time of developing ideas.

This first garment is made from jersey and chiffon, not the best materials to be working with, the chiffon was hard to sew and there is a zip at the back which was a nightmare to fit it in! This will be worn with a lot of pearl necklaces at the fashion show.

The second garment is just made from Cotton and it’s longer than the one beneath and this was the easiest of the three to make. The feathers were already bought on a binding from Ebay and they are soo soft! The neckline is really high and i’m really looking forward to seeing this on the catwalk because of the neckline been so dramatic!

This one is also made from cotton and this one wasn’t really how i designed it, the corset was supposed to be covered with feathers laying flat, but they were very pricey and i did buy quite a few but they didn’t look right. I saw Karlie Kloss going to the Met Gala afterparty in a Jason Wu dress and it gave me the idea to use thinner pieces and i decided to sew them in to the seam and i’m happy how it turned out – i thought it was going to be horrendous!

Thank goodness i finished this collection, it’s been so hectic and i’ve been panicking so much over this! Hopefully i’ll get some lovely snaps of the collection tommorow night! Feel free to leave any questions below!
