2011 Holiday Reads

I found this post in my drafts and thought i would post it even though summer is practically over – but everyone can still read these! I read these on holiday and i thought they were all really good!

Bergdorf Blondes – Plum Sykes โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…

I really liked this book, It was about the lives of New York socialites and all of their going on’s and trying to find a potentional rich husband. The story on a whole didn’t have a major plot and it didnt really go anywhere, but i still found it enjoyable to read. It was a charming book and very funny. Not for everyone, but for people who enjoy that sort of thing (sex and the city), it’s great.

The Undomestic Goddess – Sophie Kinsella โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…

Sophie Kinsella is one of my favourite authors, her books are so amusing. I dont know why but i had no idea that this book exsisted, i thought i’d read all of her books. This wasnt my favourite book of her’s that i have read but i still really like it. The story follows a uptight business women who has no life outside of work and who makes a mistake and runs away to the country. She ends up a random house, who the owners believe she is applying for a housekeeper job.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Suzanne Collins โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…

I was soooo excited to read the third and final book! Anyone who hasn’t read The Hunger Games, you should! I thought they wouldn’t be my cup of tea but i loved these books. Its set in a different world where they are all in districts and there is the capitol which is like the city and where the rules are made. Every year they have the hunger games and everyones children are to take part. The Hunger Games is where you are put into a situation (eg. jungle, desert, water) – you have to survive and be the last one alive to win. The Hunger Games movie is out March 2012 starring Jennifer Lawerence, Liam Hemsworth & Josh Hutcherson! It’s going to be huge!
