Tips on saving money before Christmas
Around Christmas it’s the time where you can certainly feel the pinch. Especially with everything going on with the cost of living crisis, this year may involve a lot of cut backs and savings where possible. I thought I would share a few of my top tips on what I’m doing to save some pennies in the last couple of weeks before December 25th.

I’ve got to say when it comes to online spending, I’m the Cashback Queen. I can’t buy anything without searching to see if I can get any cash back. Sometimes they don’t work with coupons so you just have to work out which you will benefit from most. I use Quidco mostly which I’ve managed to get over £500 back! You can sign up here and get a reward for signing up via the link. Airtime Rewards is another great cash back app which I use but this is cash back solely on your phone bill. Spend in any of their affiliated stores such as Boots, Wilkos and New Look and redeem the cash back against your phone bill. Usually I redeem £10 per month, it’s not a lot but it can make a difference. If you sign up via this link and use the code RFEWPQFB you’ll also get a reward.
Another way to save money whilst spending is always hunting out for coupons. Don’t buy something you don’t want just because you have a coupon though! When you are online shopping, it’s super easy to Google coupon codes and see if there’s anything knocking about. Even if it’s just for free delivery, it’s better than nothing. I also use the Google Chrome plug-in Honey which will also search online for codes and try and get your basket price to the lowest possible. It’s always the best when the site allows you to stack codes as you can usually get some great bargains.
December is the perfect time to sell unwanted items whether thats clothes, toys or home items. There are a few apps which you can use to sell pre-loved clothes. You are being sustainable and helping the planet too. It’s a great time to sell off party wear as people will be looking for bargain outfits themselves. Selling jewellery is also a great idea for making some money. You may look to pawn your item and be surprised that some of your items are worth more than you think.

Another way to save money this joining loyalty/reward schemes. I know people don’t like signing up to different stores schemes such as Tesco’s Clubcard or Boots’ Advantage Card but the savings can be tremendous. I’ve listed a few which are worth considering to join this Christmas to save money on food, alcohol and even presents in the led up to December 25th.
- Boots Advantage Card
- Nectar Card
- Tesco Clubcard
- ASDA Rewards
- My John Lewis Membership Card
- Lidl Plus
- Iceland Bonus
- M&S Sparks (occasional free things)
Hopefully these are a few things that can help save a few pennies. Especially when it comes to saving on items you are already buying.
XOXO

This is such a great post! I love a good loyalty scheme, I don’t think I could shop in Tesco without my clubcard. I’ve also been able to treat myself with Boots points before, so it’s nice that things can come back around like that. I definitely need to get onto the cashback sites though by the sounds of it. Thanks for sharing xx
