My 2021 Mother’s Day Gift Guide
With less than a week until Mother’s Day here in the UK, I’ve got a few great gift ideas on what to get your Mum this Mothering Sunday. I know for a lot of people, the day can’t be spent together which actually happened last year too. I can’t believe it’s been a whole year. You can still show your Mum you love her by arranging doorstep gifts or even meals on wheels to the door. There so many local companies doing bake boxes and special Mother’s Day Meals. I’d certainly check out some local businesses to see if you can arrange something. Alternatively, I’ve got some more traditional gifts which you’ll be able to order online. Hopefully, there’s something for everyone in this Mothers Day Gift Guide.

Starting off with a few things for the Gin Loving Mamas. I think I’ve certainly influenced my Mum when it comes to drinking Gin over the last couple of years and she’s got more and more into trying different flavours. This set from the Isle of Wight Distillery features two of the Mermaid Gins and their Mermaid Salt Vodka. This would make an excellent gift to try out a few spirits. I can confirm though that the Mermaid Gins are a favourite of mine. Especially their Pink edition which is infused with fresh strawberries from the isle of wight.

Another excellent gift for those who are partial to a cheeky tipple is this Bathtub Gin Gift Set which comes with the most adorable enamel mug. I think the branding of this set is just beautiful. Personally, I do love the Bathtub Gin which is made by Ableforths and infused with different botanicals such as Juniper, Cardamon and Orange Peel. If your mum loves Bathtub Gin or even just more traditional gins, this would make an excellent little gift. The enamel mug is definitely a lovely little touch to the set.

Moving onto a different type of Bathtub. I’m sure we can all agree that Mum’s always love a good soak in the bath and to be honest, you can never go wrong with buying some luxury products to be used whilst relaxing in the bathroom. The Olverum Bath Salts are created to revitalise your skin, well and truly relax you and also help improve your sleep. The salts are made up of the famous Olvereum bath oil and sustainably sourced natural salts from the Dead Sea and Kalahari Desert. The smell absolutely divine and not only will they relax you but transport you to the spa. I’m sure these will go down a treat with my Mum! The bath salts and the full Olverum collection is available from Space:NK here.

Another treat for the bathroom is these amazing bath melts. The Great British Bathe Off from Prezzybox contains four different Bath Melts which resemble cupcakes. They are utterly adorable! These would make an excellent gift for those who love using different bath products but who is also a fan of the Bake Off. Although not edible these handmade bath melts come in some rather delicious sounds flavours such as Lemon Drizzle, Berry Crumble, Cherry Bakewell and Chocolate Cappuccino. They are really high quality in how they are made and come in a little egg tray.

I couldn’t not include a few candles in this Gift Guide. I’m sure we are all missing browsing the aisles of TK:Maxx for all of the candles but I’ve got the perfect one for you today which will bring you all the spa vibes. Temple Spa is available online and it’s just like bringing the spa to your own home. The Siesta Forever is a relaxing aromatherapy scent that features frankincense, dill seed oil and petitgrain. These ingredients bring calming and relaxing effects. Temple Spa also have a fragrance that I’ve only just been made aware of. I believe the My Essence Fragrance was only launched last year. This fragrance is inspired by their Mediterranean roots and feature a range of notes such as Bergamot, Jasmine, Neroli and Cedarwood. You can find lots of Mother’s Day Gift ideas over on Temple Spa here.

Over the last couple of months, I’ve been using Versace Dylan Blue but now we have Versace Dylan Turquoise. You may have seen Hayley Bieber advertising this scent but it’s definitely one to try out. The bottle itself is just insane – it’s so beautiful! Smelly stuff always goes down a treat on Mother’s Day. Versace is also a favourite of my Mum’s. I think she’d love this new scent from the Dylan collection which features zesty mandarin and primofiore lemon with hints of wood and musk.

As I said candles make the best gifts, especially for Mums and Grandmas. Morokka is a London based homeware brand primarily selling geometric animal designs. There is some rather adorable items on their website from sculptures, prints to these candles. The candle above features Frank the Bulldog which sits on top. It’s a great design piece and also the candle smells lovely with a burn time of over 35 hours.

I’m rather excited about this addition to my Mother’s Day Gift Guide and that is a few items from MooMooi range at Heathcote & Ivory. The current collaboration is in collaboration with fashion illustrator Meredith Wing and she’s created the most amazing packaging. It’s also worth noting that the products are all made with vegan-friendly formulas. I’d definitely recommend checking out the collection. There are some great products that would make excellent gifts with items such as hand creams, little rollerball perfumes and even an antibacterial hand gel which is very appropriate right now.

Another gift that is very appropriate right now is this facemask from This Is Silk. I’m a little bit obsessed with these silk facemasks which I’ve been using. They are so soft on the skin, come with a filter and the elastic is also adjustable so it can fit like a glove. It’s said that silk facemasks help with combatting “maskne” so that’s also worth knowing. This is Silk have a range of beautiful items which would make excellent gifts from eye masks, pillows and hair bands. Anything silk just feels so luxe and would be perfect for gifting.
I also wanted to note that Mother’s Day would also be a great time to book something to look forward to in the future. We’re hopefully on the roadmap out of lockdown and hopefully, things will be going back to normal. Gift Experiences from places like Red Letter Days or Buy A Gift would also be a great idea for a present. You can get the gift cards sent either by post or straight to your e-mail with a choice of hotel breaks, spa experiences or even Afternoon Tea. I love the sound of the Alice’s Queen of Hearts Afternoon Tea at the Taj 51 Hotel in London. This would be an excellent excuse for a city break adventure later in the year filled with delicious goodies.
Another gift card to mention is the Town and City Gift Cards which are available for lots of different locations across the UK. This is a great way to support either your local high street or use for a day out in the future with your mum. The Gift Card is available in York. I thought it would be excellent to use on a little shopping trip and to grab a bite to eat on a girly day out when we can.
Hopefully, this post has given you a little bit of inspiration for Mother’s Day!
XOXO
