Finding the Right Fragrance for the Festive Party Season
October 29, 2018
I must admit, I’m kind of a perfect addict. My collection is kind of out of control. As the seasons change, I do try and adapt and swap round my current favourites. As we’re heading into the festive party season, I’ve been looking at different fragrances to try.
Miller Harris is a luxury perfumery in London and I actually stopped by their store in Covent Garden to see what they have on offer. For a luxury brand, they aren’t badly priced and you can even get three travel sized for £30 which would make a great Christmas present for your loved ones. One scent which really stood out to me was the Powdered Veil Eau De Parfum which had notes of amber and comes in the most beautiful pink and gold bottle.
Now, I don’t want to go around smelling like cinnamon and pine cones but it’s night to get in the festive spirit and change things up. I find that for the festive season, my taste does go slightly more muskier with a hint of vanilla. Whilst in Summer, I stick to florals and fruiter scents like Marc Jacobs Daisy and MYNY by DKNY these are some of the scents I’ll be wearing for this festive party season.
YSL Black Opium Floral Shock
This YSL perfume has been a staple on my dressing table for a couple of years now. It’s what I would say is a night time scent and perfect for a festive party. The iconic scent with has black coffee and Amber notes has a fresher and slightly floral hint with the floral shock version.
Narciso Rodriguez For Her Eau De Parfum
You’ll have seen this fragrance appear on my blog a couple of times now, it’s my favourite scent right now. My full review on the perfume is here. Although this fragrance does still have floral notes, there is soft amber and woody notes which I think smells delightful in Autumn.
Rosie for Autograph Nuit Perfume
I’m not even sure if this one is available anymore as I can’t seem to find it on the M&S website. The Rosie Huntington-Whitley for Autograph perfume is one I picked up in the Black Friday deals two years or so ago. The Nuit edition was only about £8 for a 30ml bottle with hints of Bergamot, Blackcurrant and violet. For such an inexpensive perfume, this smells incredible. Like the name suggests, it’s a great evening scent.
What’s your current go to perfume? Do you switch things up seasonally?
