The Festive Gift Guides are BACK! It’s officially my favourite time of the year. My first festive gift guide is all for the little ones in your life. Although I don’t have any children myself, little ones account for most of the presents I’ll be buying as I have EIGHT nieces and nephews! I thought it would be a good idea to share some gift ideas for children as I know I’m not the only one who will be buying for nieces and nephews, younger siblings or even children of friends.
This year, I’ve had a few new arrivals in the family and aside from buying clothes, under 6 months I’ve found is a tricky age for presents. A lot of toys are marked as 6 months plus but I thought I’d show you what I’ve picked up for the super tiny little ones in my family. First of all, we have these festive soothers from MAM. They have a few new festive designs including this little snowman and santa claus soother. Another little festive accessory is this “My First Christmas” bib, so even at the Christmas dinner table they will be feeling festive. I also love all the little “My First Christmas” things you can buy, perfect for newborns!
Another item I picked up from Sainsbury’s was this brightly coloured Octopus. I believe it’s made by Chad Valley and they had lot’s of different toys perfect to hang on your pram. These sort of toys can help with development with colours and feeling different textures. They are perfect for little ones under the 6 month age bracket!
No matter what age I’m buying for, I do love buying a few books. It’s always good to have a big range of books for story time before bed. For the youngest ones, I’ve picked up some of the famous Osbourne “That’s not my..” Touchy Feely Books. From unicorns to trucks, there’s a book for everything you could imagine. I also love the Julia Donaldson books; The Gruffalo, Room on the Broom and Stick Man are absolute classics.
Following on from the Julia Donaldson books, there is actually a huge range of Gruffalo Products available including some adorable bits of clothing. I also believe there is some clothing pieces in Sainbury’s. I’ve got this Gruffalo Deep Dark Wood Game for one of my nephews, he loves the story so I think he will like playing this game which I think is a little bit like Snakes and Ladders. These sort of games will also help him with his counting.
For someone a little creative, I’ve come across these Fuzzikins items. Aimed at children aged 4 and above, the Fuzzikins are little figures in which you can colour and paint with washable pens whilst playing along with all the characters. The one I’ve got is a pop-up school which includes a wise owl teacher. This set is perfect for those who love creative play and story telling with their toys.
Did you really think that I could do a Gift Guide without including something from Disney. At the moment, there’s so much out there from Frozen 2 to Toy Story 4 merchandise. If you’ve got any Disney lovers in your family, you will be spoilt for choice in literally every shop you go in to! I’ve picked up this Disney Princess Travel Suitcase, although it’s only a play suitcase – it’s super fun. The suitcase is filled with 17 items such as little passport, some very sassy sunglasses and a sleep mask. Perfect for any budding traveller who loves their Disney Princesses’. I would also say that this suitcase is perfect if you are planning a suprise Disneyland reveal.
Who doesn’t love a little bit of chocolate? Aside from the fact that Thorntons do some amazing personalised Advent Calendars, they also have these chocolate characters which I’ve spotted in a few different supermarkets now. As well as the Cheeky Elf, you can also pick up the Snowy Bear made from White Chocolate or the Cheeky Reindeer. It’s going to be very hard to give these away, they look so yummy!
I also thought I would share this Johnson’s Sleep Tight Set. This is perfect for any babies in your family and is filled with some of the essentials like lotion, oil and powder. The set also has a very cute tiny pair of socks. It’s packaged in this reusable bag and I just think this is a lovely gift mainly to help out with buying in some essential items.
Finally, We’re on to some of my favourite items. Anything personalised always catches my eye. Whether it’s baubles or stockings they make an excellent gift. Recently Christmas Eve boxes have become really popular and I Just Love It are doing a personalised wooden box. Pyjamas, sweeties and books and socks are great items to put in your box for Christmas Eve. Who doesn’t love a fresh set of PJ’s before Christmas?!
You can also get personalised Stockings and Santa Sacks. The ones above are from Harrow & Green who have a gorgeous selection of personalised items. The Stockings are made from the softest Cashmere with a glitter initial, the quality is unbelievable and will be an item to cherish and hang up every year. Also from Harrow & Green are these personalised Santa sacks, which you can create yourself and iron on the desired name. These really do look amazing under the Christmas Tree and apparently the Dutchess of Cambridge has these for the young royals!
So there’s the first Festive Gift Guide of the Christmas 2019 season. I’ll be back with another Festive Gift Guide tomorrow with all the things for beauty lovers. Stay tuned!
