With my second year at University nearly done with – This is my last week! I thought I would share a few of my must-have’s for Uni with you. I study Fashion Business and I understand some courses are different.
Notebooks are a weakness for me, I have a lot! I always carry one with me in my handbag just in case i need one. I’m forever making lists and notes. For Uni, I use Pukka Pads as they have little dividers inside which is useful.
Highlighters are great for lectures too. If you’re writing pages and pages of notes and the next day you’re trying to find the important bits – It’ll save you a lot of time if it’s all highlighted. I also just use them to doodle and make the page colourful and pretty.
Where would I be without my Memory Stick? Probably crying in a hole and still in my first year. Always back-up your work to a memory stick and/or Dropbox. There has been so many disasters with laptop’s breaking and all my work been wiped, having it on a memory stick is just an extra safety net.
Hard Drive – PC World
I also have a external Hard drive to save all my work on and back up my laptop. They’ve both been lifesavers and it’s a great investment. Last month, my laptop got wiped and I lost all my files and even all my programmes and luckily most of my photo’s and files were on this!
If you’re going to be studying a course like mine, I’d totally recommending in investing programmes such as Photoshop and InDesign – I know they are SUPER expensive but I couldn’t live without these programmes – otherwise i would have to be in the library 24/7.
The Trend Forecasting Handbook // Successful Event Management // Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations // Vogue on Hubert de Givenchy – Amazon or eBay
Most courses will give you a reading list which they expect you to buy and read. It can be really expensive before you’ve even started but it helps if you have them as it makes understanding the topics easier. As I’m on a fashion course, there is tons of books to buy. I really like the “Vogue on” series and I’m currently saving up for the Grace Coddington book!
Viking Direct did kindly send me some stationary which I’ve included in this post. They are a great website which will sell everything you will need stationary-wise and a few other items like chocolate and loo roll! I think I might do another post about tips on going to University – I did previously do one about my first year here!
